OOC: Note Simeon can see 120' with his darkvision. Probably sees the same as you have posted but letting you know incase you have something hiding 100' ahead or what not later on.

Cappi will try and ignore the bats and move to where the moss is. He will then try and remember his lessons on nature and what has been read about the under dark.

Underdark-Quest :The Vault of Larin Karr, Continued
Francheska finds the moss to feel sligtly damp and, well, mossy. Capizzio recalls some of his UnderDark studies that told of different cavern conditions from rocky and arid, to rife with weeds and grasses, to even some areas choked by fungi of various sorts. In short, the presence of the moss in itself raises no alarms, other than to be a fair indication of a water source fairly nearby, but Cappi hastens to point out that said water source might just be beneath the moss, too.

Cappi takes a dagger and tries to pri under the moss to see if therre is a water source under it. maybe even some sort of opening???

OOC: You have just reached a point where the branch passage to the south is visible, so the actual heading south will actually require going west about 30 yards more. Therefore:
IC: Kerlan starts to walk forward to the west mumbling something about finding out what's down that side-passage. His steps are heavily muffled by the thick carpet of moss.

Looking back to make sure the group is keeping up Simeon notices one of the wizards missing. He backtracks and sees that they are investigating the side passage.
"Not sure where that goes," the orc says scratching his head. "This way leads directly to the Vault." he says pointing the way he had been going. "Maybe not best to go straight in if this dead guy, who isn't dead, is waiting on us though."
