I'm cautiously optimistic. I'm not sure the Addams weirdness works in an equally weird environment or if it needs "normal" people to bounce off of, but I'm willing to give it a try.

Strangely, I would have preferred that Burton not be involved, but still looking forward to it. He plays things a bit too whimsically for The Addams Family, in my opinion. They need to be played more straight.

My frist thought was "Another movie for Burton that already has the Goth aesthetic and he won't have to try to force it into the setting."

If anything deserves to return in undeath, it is the Addams Family.

I feel that I should mention there's a web series called "Adult Wednesday Addams." The woman who produced it eventually received a cease and desist from the family, who still hold the rights, but you can still find the complete series on Youtube. It's quite good.

Seeing Gomez, and learning who the actress is playing Wednesday, I’m encouraged that perhaps Burton is capable of growing as an artist and getting over himself.

I would never have pegged Luis Guzman as Gomez, but I thought it was nice to see he had been cast.

I love the blending of the Addams Family theme into Paint It Black (which is so on-brand for Wednesday). I wonder if that's the official theme tune for the series.
