Twenty Years Later: Exploring The World Of Darkness

Always one to keep up to date on the latest gaming trends, I have been finding myself drawn to the classic World of Darkness lately. I know, I'm only just over 20 years too late to jump on this bandwagon, but I have gotten the Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse twentieth anniversary editions and I've been looking through supplements both old and new, to decide what to put together. My interest was sparked about a year ago, when a friend ran some Werewolf: The Apocalypse games online. I had fun, and I wanted more.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Feats for Races

I find this line mystifying: "These feats don’t assume that multiclassing is used in a campaign." What are they trying to say here? Do these feats become unbalanced when combined with multiclassing? Also, some of the feats significantly alter a character's body. Barbed Hide, for example, endows a Tiefling with a barbed hide. That's not the sort of thing that you can acquire through...
Rich Baker over at Sasquatch Game Studios has sent along an exclusive preview of some concept work for Alterity's "The Shipyard" sourcebook (which is a companion volume included in the currently running Alternity RPG Kickstarter). This page spread shows a Tebenkov-Class Survey Cruiser, including the vessel's stats and description. The Alternity RPG Kickstarter has another 10 days left to run, and has already funded, so it's starting to take aim at a number of stretch goals.
A bit of D&D history! Frank Mentzer (TSR, Dungeons & Dragons, creator of the RPGA) shared the following anecdote regarding an alternate cover for D&D's Red Box set which never came to be. The art was by Larry Elmore and featured more than the single fighter and dragon we're familiar with. The art is actually for sale you would need to contact Frank directly via Facebook or email if you're interested.

Being a gamer used to be so simple. Designers designed. Publishers published. Stores stocked and we played. With the advent of cheap technology, those boundaries have blurred. Now I can design games from the comfort of my own armchair. I could even write it on my phone and upload it tonight. Well, that’s what everyone else is doing, right?

Dive Into the Dungeon Masters Guild With Creator M.T. Black

If Wizards of the Coast limits its Dungeons & Dragons output to a steady flow of products, the Dungeon Masters Guild amounts to a constantly rushing fire hose. Gamers can find a wealth of polished products on the DMs Guild, many of which feature original art and pro-quality design. But a newcomer might just as easily drown in generic and amateurish material. For M.T. Black, an Australia-based DMs Guild bestselling creator, the search for quality material on the guild pays serious dividends, especially for fans who get antsy waiting months for the next official release.
