The Gamers: The Series, Season 0 has begun. And the first episode is even seasonally relevant. The Gamers: The Series follows the characters from the original 2002 Dead Gentlemen movie, The Gamers, and its sequel The Gamers: Dorkness Rising, as they struggle to make their way in our modern world. Are you ready to continue the story of Newmoon, Nimble, Magellan, Rogar, and Mark? The series is being crowdfunded via a Patreon campaign.

It was announced, some months back, that they were trying to hit a certain goal on their Patreon page, to support filming of an actual ongoing series. They haven't made that number yet but they're using current funding to support a series of these shorts, as an introduction to the series.

I enjoyed the Gamers movies, but admittedly it's a long time since I saw the first one. I may need a refresher.

Still, the first episode of a new series should be capable of standing on its own merits.
