I've got to get in there!

Vakeva focuses for a moment, tapping the inner might he's so recently discovered, and slips into the room. So quickly does he move that he's around his foes and in position almost before his allies notice he's on his way! As he slides around the battlefield he fires off a quick shot, followed in rapid succession by four more once he's in position. Only two of the clothyard shafts hit, but they take the newly summoned monster full in the chest and in the joint of it's hip, causing massive damage.

Fleet charge to the row just south of G1, all the way back against the western wall. This is a swift action and grants one additional attack. Bane weapon overcomes DR, but just in case using cold iron durable arrows as well.

OOC: He's AC19 so yes you hit twice one a crit. And bane damage does apply.

The dwarf's arrows hit and seem to hurt the summoned creature, but they almost immediately start to rust and smoke falling in dissolving puddles around the demon's feet.

Viridian snaps at the heels of the ghoul, but his jaws clamp behind the retreating leg of the undead creature with audible snap. Undetered, he jumps up from his low position, wings flapping furiously to aid in the jump. He lands at the beasts back, claws raking across and down as the little dragon slides back on the ground. Turning away from the beast he lashes at it with the mace at the end of his tail, but it skips from a bit of detritus and nearly flips over to hit Viridian in the head.

OOC: nat 1 and nat 2 in the same sequence :) luckily, the claws hit. Add 4 more damage if the ghoul is denied his dex bonus for any reason. Also, I don't mind if you change the marking for Viridian to C or CC.

While it is difficult to be sure with the desecration their are motifs that strongly suggest Iomedae.

As Fatoon climbs the stairs, the sounds of battle are heard ahead. Even as he climbs Fatoon knows that evil is ahead. He hears someone shout, "That's a very potent spell, something very bad is coming!" He passes a trail of fallen Gargoyles and Ghouls on the way to the door.

Fatoon catches a whiff of the smell of acid as he approaches the doorway to the shrine. He draws his morningstar, ready for whatever is ahead.

Red standard visible first, Adrian doesn't even bother with hiding, the combat has already started. He hurries after Fatoon. As he nears he erupts in combat hymn raising the spirits of queens (wo)men!

The demon gapes at the dwarf and they make eye contact for just an instant before the demon's eyes vanish in a puff of smoke and he fades back into the depths from which he was summoned.

Undetered, he jumps up from his low position, wings flapping furiously to aid in the jump. He lands at the beasts back, claws raking across and down as the little dragon slides back on the ground. Turning away from the beast he lashes at it with the mace at the end of his tail, but it skips from a bit of detritus and nearly flips over to hit Viridian in the head.

It is soon clear he need not have bothered with the tail attack the Ghoul is done for after a last useless scrabble for the door.

The remaining Ghoul priest seems intent on casting another spell, but blasts of magic from Mel and a decisive attack by Denir's great sword put an end to it before he can more than raise his clawed hands.

The short decisive battle ends and all is quiet. The newcomers and that existing party find themselves staring at each other over the bodies of the fallen Ghouls.

Striping the black and green cloth from the altar reveals that this was indeed a shrine to Iomedae. The fiendish scribblings on the walls suggest the Ghouls follow Kabriri--Him Who Gnaws. The altar is surprisingly intact if filth covered. If your information is correct there is a cache of healing concealed below it somehow.

Viridian scrambles around the bodies killing what needs killing and collecting what valuables they have (if any) in neat little pile near the altar. Those perceptive enough might notice he never touches undead flesh, only that his clawed hand hovers above and tiny replica of the hand does all the work.

When Fatoon appears, he hisses, small puff of acrid smoke coming from his mouth. Seeing no threat, he relaxes and stands upright
"Welcometh, Oracle of the Spirit, if 't be true thou art a friend. I am Claugendeem Calaun, champion of the Green Claw clan. And to thy squire and clanmate too. Calleth me Viridian" kobold nods in the direction of Adrian too before he continues with checking the bodies.

"We wend on immediately, th're art belike m're evil things h're."

The Demon had vanished leaving only an unpleasant smell behind. The ordinary Ghouls too proved to have nothing of value, but the priest Ghouls have 92 gold pieces between them, ordinary flails and their studded leather looks much too good to be ordinary though it is rather dirty and stained. The first priest ghoul brought down still has a scroll of Summon Monster V. They other used his to summon the Demon.

'Keva lowers his bow as the last foes fall, and nods in satisfaction at the efficient work. Without a word, he moves around the battlefield collecting his arrows. The two that actually hit the demon are useless, eliciting a grunt of frustration but little else. Those that missed, and those outside that fell from the shattered gargoyles, prove to be in better shape.

When the newcomers appear and start passing out introductions, acting as though there's nothing suspicious about brand new faces just cropping up in this Gods forsaken place, he glares at them suspiciously for a moment.

"Hmph. Well, you timed your entrance nicely..."
