Beamer & Eusebius get the jump on their enemy, who does not try to attack first. They have merely moved towards the duo. Torvin calls out "Hold. Your lives can be spared. Just give us the weapon."
But Beamer and Eusebius have already decided on their actions. They move East, Eusebius taking the lead, and Beamer hitting the assassins with a glitterdust spell, not for the first time.
Lothar is blinded, and his armed crossbow swings about uselessly. Sangster manages to close his eyes at the last minute and is largely unaffected. He is armed with a longsword and a small wooden shield.
"Fools, you must die!" shouts Torvin.

Razh has defeated his living reflection. It was as tough a battle as he has ever fought, and he stands, heaving, beside the mirror. Beyond the mirror he can now see a black curtain against the wall.
