I should add a caveat to your question, Jack.

[sblock]The adventure makes two additional notations at different points with regards to the Feywild.

1) If, while in Moonstair, the PCs insist on going directly to the feywild through the Moon Door (moonstair's semi-active portal) and then travel to the Great Warren or Mross Kagg, they could do so (but the Moon Door is closed; it only opens during nights of the full moon when the sky is clear). In the Feywild, the Great Warren is not underground, but above ground, consisting of cliffs and crags and ravines.

2) If the PCs fail the skill challenge to open the portal/archway in the feywild starting area, then they are going to have to find another way through the cliffs to Mross Kagg. This would pretty much be climbing up the steep walls (Athletics DC 21) and traversing the paths. [/sblock]

How do the Nothics work in 4e?
In a word, simply.

[sblock]There are two kinds of Nothics.

The Gazer (artillery) has a rotting gaze. Ranged attack v Fort, target takes damage, slowed, -2 to attack rolls (Save ends both).

The Stalker (skirmisher) has a dazing gaze. Close blast 3 v Ref, target is damaged, dazed until end of the Stalker's next turn. The Stalker also gets +2d6 when it has combat advantage.

The gazes are at wills, and can't access their gaze power when blinded, and both have a Retaliate power: As an immediate reaction when hit by a melee or close attack, the nothic can shift and make a gaze or claw attack. Encounter power.[/sblock]

Thanks. I am mostly looking for some inspiration about the Feywild, so it will probably do ;)
If this helps:

This is the secluded spot you enter the Feywild.

(For you lawyers out there, it was a preview pic on the WotC site. ;))[/sblock]

You and me both. :) My upcoming campaign has a lot of fey influence, at least to start with, so I'm really looking forward to this.

I won't be able to use the module as written, since one of my players is getting a review copy, but that's cool--I'm mostly looking forward to it for inspiration, not direct theft.

You know, Mouse. Even though the Manual of the Planes isn't coming out til December or so, I still am itching for some Feywild/Shadowfell fleshing out. I'd like to see a net project of folks proposing sites of interest in the various planes.

I'd really like to see whatever you do with your Feywild, in any event.

BTW, have you picked up any of the books I suggested?

You know, it's really too bad the idea for this campaign came to me the way it did. I've actually got a much stronger idea of what my Shadowfell looks like than my Feywild. But I'm not going to alter the campaign for that, not when I like the idea so much. :)

Haven't picked up any new books yet, no. I do already own Changeling (which I need to sit down and read; I've only ever skimmed through it so far). I've read a moderate amount of Sandman, I read Faerie Tale years ago (didn't actually care for it all that much, honestly), and of course I've seen Hellboy II. :)

Yeah, right now I am just collecting inspiration. The players have just dinged level 6, and I do not expect them to make their way into the Feywild before around level 10. On the other hand, we are going away on our yearly DND-weekend in less than a month, and we usually get 30-35 hours of gaming done during those, so I need to prep quite a lot. Especially since last year was a huge hit, with a trip to a haunted island filled with horror and horrors, courtesy of the members of this board, who helped inspire me making a truly horrific place.

Right now I need to figure out what happens, since they got captured by drow slavers heading to the Seven-Pillared Hall. That was absolutely not the plan, but what can you do when they instead of following clues decide to explore the Underdark..

Sorry about the derail, back to the Feywild.

Awesome picture btw. Thanks Rechan.
