Baern looks at Cairn during his comments Maybe a dwarf will understand ya better Cairn.

He looks around, seeming to feel lost in the urban environment. Where else haven't we looked?

[sblock=ooc/vacation schedules]
I'll be out of town and away from my computer from Wednesday to Monday while visiting family over Thanksgiving. If I get really bored I may check in on things via my phone or someone else's computer, but I wouldn't count on it.

Veruza continues the discussion on tactics as they travel, Baern be ready for my attack order, I'll give you the signal to charge and you tear into the primary target. Baern you and I can switch off helping Cairn hold the line, all three of us should work on outflanking the enemy. Lady Narvala, I don't exactly know what your battle talent is... Veruza blushes a bit as she catches herself judging her new friend again, but from the clothes, staff, and Flamist symbol, I'd assume you too stay in the back lines, like Nyar.

Veruza faces Nyar and Lady Narvala directly, If you can slow the enemy down, I can attempt removing them from your presence if they break our line. When we free prisoners, we'll keep them in between us. Unless they have some prowess in battle, and that will need to be addressed then.

Veruza thinks for a moment, Anyone have better strategies I've yet to consider, special talents that should be shared, anything of the sort? I have limited healing abilities Lady Narvala, so if something should happen, call out to me. As a kalashtar, if you stay close, I can help guard your minds as well. Everyone can look to me when they are pushing themselves the hardest for my divine support. Also, call out before great feats of strength or skill, and I will bolster you.

[sblock=OOC]

I'd like to work together with Baern to pull off strong provocative orders at the beginning of combats.

Cairn is one of the better defenders, especially if Baern and Veruza can help with flanking. So let's stick close and power down enemies.

Keep in mind, staying within 5 of Veruza entitles you to:
5 temp HP whenever Veruza uses healing word
Divine skill boost once per encounter +4 to skill check
Bastion of mental clarity once per encounter +4 to will
healers mercy healing
healing word healing

For the ranged people the once per encounter stuff is less important, but Cairn and Baern could benefit greatly with little effort.

Lastly,
When Allies that see Veruza spend an action point to make an attack, they gain a +3 bonus to damage rolls on a hit, or gain 3 temporary hit points on a miss.

"Correct. I am an Invoker in the Flame's service; the order of Templars I learned my skills from was formed to counter the wizards of Thrane's enemies."
She says.

"Aye, Lady Veruza, you're tactics are sound. I would just request that our stout dwarven colleague Baern keep an eye on us in the back in the inevitable event of a flank or rear attack. Ah, what am I saying? Master Baern here is reason we survived our last encounter." Nyar bows to the ranger.

He looks around for a minute, "Let's go check the alley."

[sblock=perception 9] Roll Lookup [/sblock]

Heading around to the alleyway, the members of the team that were here before notice that not much has changed. It's still dismal and grimey.

Again, the group finds the black painted window in the alleyway, this time with a hole in the glass where they broke in previously. This appears to be the only way into the building. If they head right, they'll again be in the corridor that leads to the trap that forced the group into the Battle Pitt. To the left is the stairway that leads to the shop. At the moment, nobody hears anything.

There were some documents that the group found previously, but they are still in the room. The corridor to the right had some doorways in it. One was a general storage room, the other a changing room. Around the two corners in that hallway is the dropping portcullis trap.

It's odd that the tiefling knew that the PCs were in that hallway. There must be some way for someone to spy on people there.

The streets are deserted, the Battle Pitt quiet. The team has not yet entered the building.

"I was naive to the skill of our quarry. Let me see if they have any... extra.... warning systems in place." He concentrates, searching for arcane power residuals in the alley or the room.

[sblock=arcana] 1d20+12 → [20,12] = (32). Roll Lookup Well, I'll find any magic, but waste a 20. [/sblock]
