Rogash smoothly loads up another bolt and fires at the Ettin as he continues to advance. His marksmanship proves to be deadly accurate as he takes the opening provided by Uulark.

Talashia rushes into the fray, Shazi trailing just behind her, and lightning spatters between her hand and the metal dagger in her right fist. It then sprays out, brighter and stronger as it spears for the bear's heart!

(Move to AG25 and Lightning Strike! Attack vs Reflex.)
 

The bear struggles against Caerwyn's onslaught, but eventually succombs to the barbarian's rage and actually loses its footing. From behind a large rock, the old man's mouth drops as he watches the man knock a dire bear on its ass!

The bear regains its footing soon enough, however. It stands on its hind legs and lashes out. Caerwyn ducks one of the massive paws, but is caught by the other. Still, the holy barbarian carries on.

The ettin moves forward and one of its heads begins, of all things, a chant. What begins as a black, swirling fog hisses up from the ground and organizes itself into an army of wraith-like demonic spirits! Talashia and Rogash seem to be past the sprits' boundaries, but the others find themselves covered in the demonic swarm. Their knees buckle and they stagger to maintain their footing as thier life-essence is sucked out of them.

Deep in the center of the evil swarm, Shai alone stands unaffected. A ear-piercing yelp tells him that his lupine companion isn't as lucky.

As quickly as it appeared, the swarm fades away. And the ettin's other head takes note of Talashia. It moves to the sorceress quickly, and bats her away with its thick wooden club.

Uulark Simental, Longtooth Shifter Cleric of Sehanine L11

OOC: I hate to bring this up and dispute the DM, but according to the map, Uualrk was also outside the zone of the spirit-thingies. So, I'd kinda appreciate either some clarification or some hp back, if it's not too much trouble?

GM: Everyone that was in the zone and suffered damage was also slid 3 squares. Uulark started in square AF17 (as per the Actions dialogue in this post), which is at the bottom-left corner of the zone. After the initial damage he was then forcibly moved 3 squares to his current location.

That clear it up?
 


Shaimon Hu'u, druidic human ranger

As the swarm clears and Shai sees not only the damage the Ettin has caused, but watches it bear down on Talashia, his eyes grow bloodshot and the muscles of his neck bulge.

"You stay away from my friends, you split headed--" the rest of his sentence disappears into howling animal call as horns rip outward through the skin of his forehead. The man's chest swells and a body covered in short, slick, black fur tears away Shai's human shell if it's no more than parchment. Heavy hoofs land on the ground with an audible thud as the bull that was Shai snorts, stamps, then charges at the ettin horns poised to gore its side in a bid to push it away from the sorceress.

The warrior steps up to re-engage the bear, keeping it focused on him while his allies working on the giant. Caerwyn attempts to use his tremendous strength to throw the bear down again, but the element of surprise is not on his side this time and the beast easily knocks Caerwyn away.

Angered, he unleashes a fullout assault, throwing caution to the wind as he puts all his weight behind the attack, leaving himself vulnerable.
