Dark Heresy FOR THE EMPEROR!!! OOC thread - always recruiting, give a shout

I'm thinking about starting a deathwatch game as well. It would be focused on RP'ing with the occasional opening of the famous can-a-whoopass. I don't know if I can keep up with two games when RL gets occasionally hectic. (and the opening of the new CoD-league blackops :) so many n00bs to own, so little time ), So I'd prefer to use the players in this group. If it gets too busy I can allways focus on this campaign. If I use other players they'll bugger off if the game gets too slow :).

What do you think?

Hm. Sounds interesting...but I'm not sure what kind of RP space marines are equipped to do. They've become so alien and singular of purpose...what DO they do when they're not torching space hulks and bolting Mekboyz down?

Also, regarding the current game; I have a question.

[sblock=GM Only Cuzza spoils]I'm not sure what Kestrel's duties are vis a vis this unknown noble. As an Imperial personage, is she obliged to try to help him? Or is her only duty here the safety of her charge? Which includes keeping him from freaking out once the mayhem starts, of course.[/sblock]

They pray to the emperor lol. Aside from the spacewolves who drink and fight all the time, they are monastic orders, each with their own traditions and interpretations of the astartes codex. In the deathwatch they're bunched together and that causes it's own tensions. I'm playing a tabletop game of deathwatch and it's pretty cool.
The black library has some pretty good books 'bout 40K. Try reading the Eisenhorn trilogy by Dan Abnett, or gaunt's Ghost, also by Dan Abnett. If you like space marines, go for the Space Wolves omnibus :)

[sblock=Shayuri] Your mission comes first, unless you are ordered otherwise by someone who has authority over you, most likely someone from the officio assassinatorum. The Inquisition, ofcourse, has supreme authority over evrything, and it's fairly unwise to ignore commands from high-ranked members of the ecclesiarchy, since they can brand you a heretic and have you burned at the stake :) [/sblock]

I'll try to put in a big post today or tonight. I'm working on a map, but my mapping skills need dusting off.

For reminders : the inquisition has absolute authority on all matters in the entire universe of man. Wether they can enforce it is a different matter:)

[sblock=DrZ]Understood about the Inquisition, but as far as the situation goes right now, Kestrel's reaction to an imminent assassination attempt on a well guarded noble is basically going to be "secure my compartment so my charge doesn't die, or accidentally summon Slaanesh." I just wanted to make sure that was a reasonable reaction under the circumstances. She has no orders to protect this noble, after all. For all she knows, he really deserves to be assassinated.

And then, should the situation change...if, for example, someone in the Inquisition should start barking orders...then the situation is to be re-evaluated.[/sblock]

Shayuri

There's a lot of people between you and the lead pilgrim. I'd rule a called shot to hit him (-20) so that would be a miss. I'll have you hit one of the intervening pilgrims instead.

To all:

No need to roll for hit location, you just reverse the number rolled to determine hit location. (if you roll 49 the hit would be at location 94)

Also I got another nightshift, no books here at work so I'll determine hit location at random :)

Joker:
Roll iniative
