Anybody gonna run the 4e Steading of the Hill Giant Chief from DDI as a PBP here?

I really like the idea of Lucan and Deacon having a past relationship. I'm imagining that he thwarted Lucan's mission and that Lucan hasn't gotten over it. Now that there's a bigger threat, the law and their past rivalry fall by the wayside. Seeing Deacon would probably have the side-effect of making Lucan nostalgic for the good old days.

Cool. Does he believe the official line (which is that Gwenn Arellic, like her father and the rest of his line, is quite dead)? In either case, how will he react to her? Also note that Gwenn very much considers herself one of the 'good guys' :)

Since he was opposed to the 'official line' crowd, at least a minor member of it he has perhaps heard rumors that some of the Arellics are still around/planning a comeback, but he probably didn't put much stock in such stories. He'd be quite shocked, but also pleased to see her alive. He's a bit of a rough sort without much respect for his 'betters' though.

Even the druid has a shady background (as seen in the assassin multiclass).

BTW, I'm still clothing my background idea in words (I hope this is also an English idiom).

Ah, I missed that. Druid/Assassin is an interesting combination.

I've not seen that idiom in English, but I get it and like it. Maybe I'll try to popularize it.

(Work in progress- not my first choice, but it ought to work well enough. Marking defender with some healing/leader ability and reasonable skill coverage)

Miranda is the daughter of two powerful mages, both retired adventurers. She was well-schooled in many subjects during her youth, and was trained in a remote monastery to join an ancient order of arcane bodyguards. With her training completed, she was sent to work at the court of a powerful king. After several years of service, she was granted personal leave to investigate the increase in giant activity- both the king she served and her own order had become concerned about the growing danger.

Hrm, pathfinderq1, it looks like if you're going with that backstory, Miranda and Deacon may have had some intersections as well, both being trained as bodyguards for nobility. Perhaps a history of working together, being assigned to the same one person, maybe even the same unit or something of the sort, if your backstory is a bit flexible? (mine certainly is). You could also have helped with thwarting Lucan's last assassination, for that matter.

I am going to have to back out of consideration for this game. I'm cutting back on my time playing in PBP games and I'd rather not get into another game I'll have to abandon later.

Thanks and good luck in this game.
