I was referring to the Giant Lizard form's claws red text in the working draft. I wasn't suggesting adding claws to the regular lizard. Why not give the Giant Lizard a tail sweep? It seems fitting to me.

Because tail sweeps are supposed to be for G and C critters typically? I just don't think Huge creatures are big enough for physical area attacks.

As for the claws on the giant lizard, I thought I'd already agreed to that. If I didn't, let's add them. :p

A Huge creature is typically 16-32 feet long, so could easily have a 15 foot tail. I think that'd be big enough for a Sweep attack.

But if it's a deal breaker, we can just give it regular claws, bite and tail.

I guess we should decide how much damage these natural weapons will do.

Hmmm, what about a compromise? We give the lizard lord a tail sweep but remove immunity to imprisonment effects from Ythog-Nthlei?

Huge dragons have a 2d8 bite, 2d6 claws, and a 2d6 tail slap. Will that work?

But then I wouldn't get everything I want! :p

If forced to choose, I'd rather drop the Tail Sweep and keep the Imprisonment.

Bite damage may be a bit low. A Medium-sized Monitor Lizard has a 1d8 bite, which'd become 3d6 if it increases to Huge size.

Basically, I'd like to keep the overall damage in roughly the same ballpark as Hawk Lady, who has two 1d8+8 claws and a 2d6+4 bite. That's 9+16 plus 7+4, for 36 points of damage on average.

If we give Lizard Boss a 3d6+14 bite and two 1d6+7 claws that's 45.5 damage on average, or 9.5 more than Hawk Lady.

Maybe we should just give it a 4d6+21 bite OR 3d8+21 tail slap and only give claws to the hybrid form? That way the Giant Lizard form's average damage is more-or-less the same (35 for bite OR 34.5 for tail) to Madam Hawk's Giant Hawk form?

Hmm, I'll keep the imprisonment discussion to that thread.

Shouldn't the full attack line have an "and" between attack types? Anyway, I'm comfortable with the Lizard Lord's melee damage being a bit higher than the Hawk Lord's, since the lizard is supposed to be more martial. If you'd like to restrict the claws to the hybrid, what about we give the giant lizard a bite and tail slap but at somewhat reduced damage?

From what I remember the Hawk Lordette was only "less martial" when in humanoid form, and us making her a dual-wielding rapier warrioress rather changed that.

I'd be OK giving the Lizard Lord a bite AND tail slap if we have a note in the combat section that it can't use both against the same target when full attacking.

Maybe:

Attack: Bite 4d6+14 OR tail 3d8+14
Full Attack: Bite 4d6+14 AND tail 3d8+7

What thinks thou?
