Yep. There's an awful lot in there that sounds really good. Suddenly, I'm much more enthusiastic about 5e.

Big art budget, big price tag. I do not want books full of art. Especially WOTC style art..3 and 4e were both generally not to my tastes. I bought the DCC RPG recently and while old school is my thing, the book could have been half the size without all the art. It is wasted space.

Pretty sucks. Utility first. They should be looking at Moldvay/Cook for presentation, and utility AFAIC.

I do not care how great the game is..$40-50 hardbacks, and $25-30 modules are no sales for me.

That sounds pretty good. Granted, my group is in the opposite position he's planning for (I'd cheerfully run 5e, but my players don't like it), so there's probably a middle ground.

You could buy hardcover versions of the 4e PHB/DMG/MM for 66$ total at launch. Should be about the same price for DnD next, which in my eyes is just a bargain.
