The problem as it stands right now is that no amount of skill or effort can let an opponent come away unscathed...
No Skill, Spell, Combat Action, Condition or combination thereof can prevent it.

I was wrong, as herrozerro noted... Heavy Armor feat and a specific monk ability can. Though I don't believe there is anything in the form of a dodge or evasion ability that allows one to reduce the damage, which was my original point.
and a specific monk ability can.
100% agreed. They have the ability to do it for magic, and it should be expanded for physical stuff, too.I am totally fine with some kind of evasion ability. We need a Rock to this Scissors.

What about the rogue ability evasion. The rogue uses his reaction to take half damage from an attack and can use this every single round.
With current multi-classing that doesnt mean you cant have it for a character who is primarily in another class.
Ah you are right doesnt fit... fits less than reflavoring that chainmail bikiniI didn't say you couldn't... but it doesn't fit with the narrative I am speaking to... first it is based on non-movement (which doesn't really fit the narrative at all) and ends if you move... second it requires a ki point to be spent to activate it...so unlike the GWF can't be used all the time to negate his damage. I just don't see this mechanic fitting the narrative of a Graceful Dodger.
