But you're also not one of the guys who is so passionately against it that they are threatening to not even play the game if this is included in it. I am not referring to everyone against it, just the people with the intense vocal dislike for it.
I'm just not passionate enough about 5e to really do that. I'm not planning to play it either way.

Start a poll on it, though. I'm guessing that you'd be very wrong in your assumption.

I won't quit over one rule no. I won't play with that rule though. And if a DM, declares that rule as valid at his table, I won't play at that table. I play martial characters almost exclusively myself though I admit I DM more than anything.

I am talking about literally about 5 people total...and you want me to start a poll?

No, thank you. We don't need yet more threads on this topic.

Out of curiosity, do you believe these people when they deny your assertion?
...and you want me to start a poll?
Well, if you really believe it but are open to change, sure, go ahead. If you are going to believe whatever you want, even if some in this group of five people opening disagree with you, then no, there'd be no point. Same goes for discussion with you, if that's the case.

I'm not sure we "need" any threads on this topic. But that's my view on most message boards.

I'm tempted to start a "I don't like no damage on a hit" poll and complain about damage reduction and evasion.

Now that's a poll I would like to see! I had actually changed evasion in my game to minimum damage to deal with that issue because it bugged me so.

I would totally agree that evasion has problems. It's far too easy to get for its utility and devalues evocation/damage spells too much. My thought was to turn it into a form of resistance like the character taking x fewer points of damage from spells that target a reflex save - maybe 10 with evasion, 20 with improved evasion. Maybe they could avoid all damage, maybe they just took a bit less.

I mean really, if 3/4 of the players in my group have and all of them are based on different classes, it's too cheaply gotten.

Out of curiosity, do you believe these people when they deny your assertion?

Yes, as I've said repeatedly, I think the objection is genuine, and strong. And if they tell me they're not caster-fans, I'll believe them. It was just a suspicion, it could well be completely wrong.

No. Whether I am open to change or not, I wouldn't make a poll, because I am not crazy. The thread would likely be removed, and I'd risk getting banned. Perhaps you've missed the ire of the admins over this issue, just how many times they've had to come into these many threads to warn people, and how we have currently FOUR threads on this one tiny playtest mechanic. We even have a poll saying we don't need any more polls on this very topic. So no thank you sir, I will not make another poll even if your reasoning was the most perfect it could be. I think perhaps you've missed some context surrounding this topic over the past year.

:D
heee heee!!!!

Hey I am sure some dont like half damage on a successful save.. you have fair chances of actually succeeding on a saving throw and dying from it anyway talk about counter intuitive and frustrating. Yes boy you succeeded here your corpse is less crispy than it would have been.
