D&D 5E ForgedAnvil D&D 5E Character Generator

On the Start sheet: in the Additional Damage Resistances section, 'force' damage is not listed in the dropdown. (I got a Brooch of Shielding)

Force is not in the dropdown, but you can just type it in yourself. This is true of pretty much (all?) places with a dropdown selection.

Also a feature request: On the Start sheet under Attacks, you list all the major weapons, and also several stat-based spell attacks. But I find myself entering the same cantrip-based spell attacks over and over as I build more characters, so it might be nice to just list them in the dropdown along with weapons. Attacks like Fire Bolt and Shillelagh seem like good candidates for this section. You could start with just the ones that are most weapon-like (Shillelagh, Green Flame Blade, Booming Blade) and leave the more spell-like ones until later (Fire Bolt, etc)

For most of the spells and cantrips you really don't need more than the Attack Spell entry, do you? For the ones that are weapon-like, I just use a regular weapon that is reasonably similar and then use the override fields to change what is needed.

Ok, another bug on Character Sheet III (Spellcasting), the filter for displaying Prepared & Ritual spells isn't giving me an option for Ritual spells anymore. I know that works on beta 2, but not seeing it on beta 5. Using a 7th level Conjuration Wizard as my test subject. Edit: Digging deeper, looks like the function in column AX next to each spell is looking for the "R" character, but it's now comparing it to the translated label in AX32 and thus failing to find a match.

I noticed this as well. Use one filter or the other, not both...that worked for me. I got the selection that I needed by using the 2nd (right side) filter. Maybe that will work for you?

Also, this same wizard has a Wand of the War Mage +1, which provides a +1 to spell attack rolls. I'm unable to locate an override to the Attack Modifier shown on the top of Character Sheet III (Spellcasting), it's nicely computing my Int & Prof bonus, but I'd like to add the +1 somewhere.

This can be handled on the Start page where you have the Attack Spell weapon entry. Use the Attack Bonus override.

Hope that helped.

I couldn't find a post about it after looking through several pages of the comments, so I'm wondering is there a way to manually enter or import a separate file to add in homebrew player races?

Hiya FA, did some gaming yesterday with the latest beta, spotted a couple more minor issues:

On the Start sheet: in the Additional Damage Resistances section, 'force' damage is not listed in the dropdown. (I got a Brooch of Shielding)

On the Adventurers Log sheet: there's a little filter button to show more pages of log lines. I'm unable to activate that button. The mouse cursor changes when I get over the button, but clicking doesn't do anything. (Aa-ha! Just played with it some more, and I can click it if I Unprotect the sheet)

Also a feature request: On the Start sheet under Attacks, you list all the major weapons, and also several stat-based spell attacks. But I find myself entering the same cantrip-based spell attacks over and over as I build more characters, so it might be nice to just list them in the dropdown along with weapons. Edit to add:

Thanks for the feedback, added force to list. As Conandar mentioned most dropdown cells you can write anything - if you get #N/A then the tool is looking for a specific "lookup" value.

There is an option when protecting the sheet to enable (check box) the Autofilter when the sheet is protected. I've set this on beta 6 so hopefully it stays.

For cantrips / attack spells I'll look into it in the next build - maybe a smart way to do it.

Nice catch on the filter bug for CSIII, I've fixed the lookup to find the R correctly in beta 6.

For things like Wand of the War Mage +1, I generally use the CS1 attack section and rename the Spell Attack (Int) to Wand of War Mage +1 and change bonus to +1

I couldn't find a post about it after looking through several pages of the comments, so I'm wondering is there a way to manually enter or import a separate file to add in homebrew player races?

Under the Custom tab you can manually enter in custom races, subclasses, backgrounds, deities, and spells. I'm currently writing code for the reset and import buttons and have a specific button on the custom worksheet to reset and import customizations from previous character sheets. This should be available with the release of beta 6 along with some content from VGM

Forged,
Would you find it helpful to have a text version of the info from VGM? I can do that and send info to you in sections. Let me know if that's helpful.

Thanks so much! Now I have another question about custom inputs. Is there a way to expand the section for custom spells to more than just 8? I'm using a third party class archetype and spell list, and it has more than 8 custom spells.

V2 - BETA 5

Character Sheet II

Wealth does not report character wealth if character has less than 1 gp. It should show amounts in sp or even cp if wealth is very low.

Mount has a spot for Carried, but nothing I can do seems to put an amount there. Is it supposed to automatically take the weights of items with the Mount or Saddlebags location from Possession Not On Person? I would expect that, but it isn't working. Makes no difference if I use the Variant Encumbrance or not.

Character Summary

If you are not using Variant Encumbrance (chosen on Start), then the "Max. Carry Weight" label vanishes. It comes back if you turn on the Variant Encumbrance on Start.

Still looking for more. :)

FA - LOVING the character generator, many thanks for all your hard work!

Have been using the 1.64 version until this week, and when my Bard levelled up to 5 noticed a (minor) bug - the sheet is saying that I get two attacks now (as a Valor Bard I don't get the second attack until 6). This bug seems to have carried over to beta 5, and I also have a list of level 4 spells on the character summary (no spell details, just generic space for all the level 4 Bard spells)

Very new to using this character sheet, but so far I like it. The only major nag I have is that it does not load nicely into Google Sheets - need to use full excel :(

That said, I have run into an issue with my monk. As a monk of the Way of the Shadow (PHB p80), I have access to Shadow Arts ("As an action. you can spend 2 ki points to cast darkness, darkvision, pass without trace, or silence, without providing material components. Additionally. you gain the minor illusion cantrip if you don'l already know it.")

Identifying that I have Shadow Arts is there on page 1's active features, with reference to "see details". Page 4's "class" block gives a summary of the details. Page 3's cantrip section allows you to select minor illusion. But how can I list the details of the other spells on page 3? Am I missing a flag somewhere?

If it matters, using v2.00 beta 5.
