OOC: FML, nevermind. These wolves speak goblin. Saving that spell slot, then...

Shara's action is just to catch her breath, then, since everything's out of range.

Mikel really only had one shot to finish this, he couldn't risk the goblin getting away. He loosed another flurry of force darts at the creature hoping to end it's rubbish little life.

OOC: Magic Missile: [roll0]

GM: Yes that was the Nature roll... that the black wolves can speak with Goblins. Its not so much that they can speak it but that they can understand each other. They also have a 7 intelligence and that is why the 'shattered' retreat sort of works for them.

Mikel unleashed three glowing darts that slammed into the last goblin alive, knocking it out of its saddle to crash onto the ground dead!! The wolves continue fleeing...

This threw me. I read "wolf" on the stat block and didn't bother to look past AC and HP. Typically assume wolf = dumb, worg = smart.

Magen Brigward
Fighter 2

Magen's attempt to knock the wolf down only seems to have incensed it's flight, as it recklessly fled, Magen managed to catch it with his sword but not enough to stop it.

Magen ran after the wolf. Knowing full well he couldn't keep up he sheathed his sword and drew his slung crossbow to loose a bolt. His aim was true and he brought the beast down.

Not yet done, he ran towards the other flanking wolf while reloading and loosed a bolt felling that beast as well.

Turning back to his companions he saw two wolves escaping, he let out a bellow of rage. "Damn, we could really have done with them all dying!

I'm Assuming Magen gets a AOO from wolf 4 fleeing, if not he'll dash and shield bash again.
AOO vs fleeing worf: 1D20+5 = [12]+5 = 17
1D8+3 = [2]+3 = 5

Crosbow attack vs fleeing wolf: 1D20+2 = [15]+2 = 17
1D10+2 = [9]+2 = 11

Not sure I'll Magen will get to make this round 7 attack, but here ya go wolf 3 also dead (I appear to be great at crossbow stuff :D )
Crosbow attack vs whatever is closest: 2D20.LOW(1)+2 = [16, 18]+2 = 18
1D10+2 = [9]+2 = 11

Hunter Brightwood

Nodding Hunter took the crossbow from Shara, “It’s been a little while,” he said as he took aim and then fired the cross bow, the bolt sailing right over the fleeing wolf.

“Well we tried,” Hunter said as he handed the crossbow back to Shara and started to rub his shoulder. “At least we did that. And we all survived.” Hunter cracked a smile, “to some degree at least.”

"So we did," Shara replies with a relieved laugh. "Though there was a moment where I wasn't sure..." she says, shaking her head.

"Hunter is right!" she calls back to Magen when he bellows in dismay. "We all lived! That's enough for me."

She waves Hunter off as he tries to hand the crossbow back. Instead, she takes off her quiver of bolts and offers them too. "Please keep it. An overprotective friend sent it along...I don't even really know how to use it."

Magen Brigward
Fighter 2

"Yes... Small victories I suppose." Magen looks angrily towards the retreating goblin then says, "They're faster than us and we should assume that they are going for reinforcements. Lets collect ourselves here, then head back for the night. Tomorrow we can start afresh."

OOC: I reckon a short rest here is our safest option. We can't outrun the wolves and I'd rather have a bit of rest under our belt if we run into anything else on the way.
