D&D 5E Ironfang Invasion (IC)

FitzTheRuke

Legend
Suddenly a man rushes through the front door. He is wearing blood-soaked traveler's clothes over chainmail and carrying a large boarding pike, like one you'd see on a ship.

"There are Hobgoblins out there, and a LOT of them."
he exclaims, looking over his shoulder. Then he turns to see the fallen hobgoblins, and realizes that the door he just came through has been smashed. He looks only a little embarrassed, and he stoops to pick up a large iron-bound piece of solid oak - the ram the hobgoblins had used to break the front door in. "Might come in handy." He shrugs.

"You got a back door? Or better yet, smuggler's tunnels? If so, I suggest we all take it."

Lal Qalandar looks at the newcommer as he abandoned his battle trance. He sighed unhappily - the village didn't deserve this calamity. They never did...

"Hello stranger, please join us as there is strength in numbers. We are leaving in but a moment..."

As he speaks, Lal opens a sack and begins filling it with food, looking especially for things that will keep a little - fruit, bread, cheese, cured meats..."

He briefly pauses and looks at the barkeep. "My apologies good sir, but we are in a rush. I suggest you come with us, I'm afraid your fine inn is doomed..."

Aubrin smiles dryly as she address Vin, “Yeah, about that, it’s stone. However there have been some repairs that were left unfinished. Some of it is only supported by wooden braces. We have had some issues on the price of the replacement with Kining our local smith.”

The bartender jumps over the bar and helps Aubrin to her feet. He looks at the man who just entered the tavern, “Yes we have a back door. Jet’s probally back there unlocking it as we speak, there is a limited amount of stores in the back, but our friend is right, we should be moving on, there isn’t going to be much time before we get more visitors.”

GM:
On the Hobgoblins Vin finds the symbol of the Ironfang Legion a tri colored banner of a red stripe with three small stars, a brown stripe with a dagger and a red stripe with a large star.

Each hobgoblin has 1 Provision point worth of food, 1GP, one shield, one longsword, and one set of chain mail.
Behind the bar Corsa finds 4 kegs of beer worth 0 Provision points, 1 cask of wine, 2 quarts of rum and 3 quarts of bourbon.

Corsa doesn't even look up from her pack, which she's hurriedly stuffing both quarts of rum and one quart of bourbon into. "Hello Loosh, I'm Corsa, and I'll be carrying the rum. Help yourself to the bourbon though," she adds, looking up with a wink.

OOC: Vin will collect the emblem, food, and the coins and leave the rest.

Looking around he races upstairs and strips some of the beds of their blankets and tosses them down to the others. "Here, use these to carry what we can. And someone grab some oil!"

"Ah, but that means we can tear it down with ease," the now bloodspattered dwarf chimes in. "Just show me the bridge and I'll tell you how best to collapse it."

Flint looks around and hesitates. All the possible provisions are already gathered by others, so the dwarf turns to the newcomer.

"Loosh, how many hobgoblins did you see? Any other races? Possibly survivors left in town?"

"Uh... I didn't count. Hundreds, at least. People were fleeing. They were rounding them up. Probably taking them as slaves. The thing I want to know is... Where did that black TOWER come from?"
