Wow. Just began reading Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes -- WOTC is really putting out some awesome books.

I have to say that I wasn't totally impressed with the various Hardback Adventures that WOTC has put out for 5e, but wow the last three rules supplements they have put out (MTofF, XGtoE, and VGtoM) are excellent! I really enjoy the way these volumes are much more than just player's guides, DM's guides or Monster Manuals. Brilliant!

Keep up the good work WOTC!

To be honest the pages and pages of random names put me off from buying the last one so I am glad that some one was impressed with it.

I know there's plenty of pushback about the lack of focus of the player supplements online, but virtually everyone in my gaming groups has praised Volo's, Xanathar's and Mordenkainen's, and owns at least two of the three.

I'm surprised myself, but the number of people who enjoy lore AND crunch AND the D&D metasetting as a whole seems to be pretty large.

They had excellent parts, but each had aweful parts too, like the endless list of names.

All the books are horrible organized, so none of them have any real focus.

But the parts that are good are really good.

The list of names is helpful for people who are playing rpgs for the first time and want everything in one place rather than go trawling the internet.

They’re obviously not aimed at people who post on Internet forums, so we’re not a great sample for adjudicating that section. It’s only a couple of pages for gods sake.

If it was only a couple of pages, say two I wouldn't have a problem with it, it was tones of pages, around 20 pages, way too much, pure filler that could have been better used.

You nearly are the only one who liked those lists, I personally hated them.
I'm ok with that! Ha!

I would have been equally ok with them not being in there as well.

Just was mentioning that at least one experienced gamer out there did like 'em.

I've been playing pretty steady since 1981. But I'm just horrible with names! Horrible! At one point, the placeholder name for the Creator God was... er... Bob. I bought a book of names for writers which was nice but promptly either lost it or it was acquired by some of my less than honest players during my Army years.

I've used the internet a lot, but I like having analog access to names.

P.S.: I admit that I'm a bit weird when it comes to this.
