D&D 5E Simple Character Sheet if you want one

DND_Reborn

The High Aldwin
UPDATE: Attached is version two of the character sheet with some suggestions from members. I hope people like it and find it useful.

So, I made up a simpler character sheet for my own style of play/notes for a character. It won't be for everyone, obviously, but Ithought I would share it in case people are looking for something like it.

It is form-fillable.

I like that a lot.
That's a nice sheet.

I'm old and I like these: D&D5E – Character Sheet [rev7] - I already know where everything is located. :)
Thanks. I was going for an old-school look--simple, direct, all the important info on one page. Eventually, I might add some functions for auto-ability mod (so people don't forget to adjust it like I did bows head in shame...) and total weight carried.

If anyone has an suggestions for making it better--with the understanding that I don't want a cluttered and crazy sheet--please let me know!

Nice Sheet. The Con mod for your example character is wrong. (Your hp are right though.)

I also forgot Navigator Tools and Vehicle (Water) under proficiency.... boy, that is awfully full of errors. I hope my DM doesn't find out! He'll want to double-check everything on my current character! :D

Very nice - I especially like the Weapons layout. Still can't figure out why there are only 4 slots on the standard sheet and no place to enter the weapon's range... though yours is missing the damage type (not that most people can't figure that out in 2 seconds if they don't already have it memorized).

"Defenses" seems like it could be removed and noted in the appropriate Race / Class / etc. Features sections, perhaps because it's unclear to me what all would be entered there. A Barbarian, for example, has Unarmored Defense and damage resistance while raging, a Rogue has Evasion and Uncanny Dodge, plus the plethora of other abilities and magic items that might come into play. The allocated space seems either redundant or insufficient or both.

If it were me, I'd combine Racial Traits and Class Features into one "Features" and provide lines all the way to the end of that column, moving "Treasure" to the space currently occupied by "Other Notes." For classes like Monk, the more lines the better, especially if they have lots of Racial Features and take some feats.

If you do that, then Other Notes would need to go on the back, in which case you might also consider extending the equipment to the bottom and moving Treasure back there, too.

Thanks!

For Weapons, I debated removing Wt. since everything could be listed as I did under equipment and the weight would go there. But, some people have tons of gear, so every slot is important.

I could resize some of the fields under Weapons so you could add "b,p,s" to indicate type if you wanted to.

"Defenses" was meant to serve as an "other notes" for AC and Armor. It could include an item not armor, a race or class feature for your own reminder. For instance, I can't tell you how many times I forget about Uncanny Dodge for Rogues!!! I know they have it, but when I take damage I just don't think about it! So, for this sheet I would put it under "Defenses" as well as Class Features, just to help me think of it.

Combining Race and Class Features isn't a bad idea and would remove the gap, adding an additional line or two.

Either way, it also makes sense to move Other Notes to the left-side and place Treasure under equipment.

Thanks for the feedback!!! :)

That's fair, though in that case having a little more space (at least two lines) could be beneficial.

In fact, I think a dedicated section for "Defenses" right above "Weapons" would be nice, or at least make the AC line more prominent by moving it to the first or last line.

For a dedicated section, I'd list AC at the top and then have several free-form lines where the player can enter armor, traits, magic, etc. as they see fit, e.g.:

DEFENSES
-----------------------------------
AC [20]
Chain Mail [16] + Shield [+2]___
Defense Fighting Style [+1]_
Ring of Protection [+1]__
__

Not sure if you can squeeze that in, but I think it would be a more useful and, more importantly, more visible format.
