Yes. Paizo has diversified themselves well and I also think they will be very much fine. And I also believe that PF2 is not meeting their hopes. Or, at least, two years from now will not be where they would like to be.I think that's an exaggeration. I think Paizo will be fine. I don't think PF2 is doing what they anticipated or hoped it would do, but I also don't think it's doing that bad. I don't think it's doing worse than PF1 was doing before they announced it (though I am still unsure).
I wouldn't be surprised if it is doing better than PF1E was right before the announcement. But that had become a pretty low bar.
IMO, it remains no coincidence that the strict math foundation in PF2E is so similar to 4E. And, yes there are lot's of major differences between PF2E and 4E. But they both show a reactionary response to the squeaky wheel of complaints against the (very much real) issues with the 3X foundation. And I think both teams were surprised that while they thrilled the vocal minority of complainers they alienated way more of the people who were quietly happily playing.
