Obi Wan Kenobi the most powerful Jedi?

Sacrosanct

Legend
Looking at all on screen media, so movies, TV shows, and animated series. Hear me out.

  • he defeated General Grievous.
  • he defeated darth Maul. More than once. The same darth Maul who effortlessly moved a ship 10x the size of an x wing (the ship Yoda AND Luke could only move slowly)
  • he defeated Anakin at a time Anakin was extremely powerful right before he became darth Vader.
  • no other Jedi has faced and defeated so many quality opponents
  • he used force powers that every other Jedi has used at one point except maybe Luke’s force projection.
  • he’s the one who spoke to Rey when she touched the light saber
  • even outside of physical and force skills, no other Jedi kept their head and strategic thinking as Kenobi did
  • he was the most versatile of all the Jedi, being a teacher, diplomat, warrior, spy, commander, investigator, pilot, and infiltrator.

Those are great points, but you also forget he was bested by Dooku twice, and he defeated Anakin only because he had the higher ground (that +1 makes all the difference 😂).

He's a powerful Jedi for sure.

Well, Anakin kinda screwed him against Dooku. If Obi Wan didn't have to worry about Anakin, it could have gone totally different. ;)

I don’t think he was in the Holiday Special, Caravan of Courage, or Ewoks either.

Seriously though, he was the perfect Jedi, and I just loved how he defeated Grievous with a blaster!

btw, that I hated that line by Obi-Wan, if all you need to do to defeat another Jedi is get to higher ground... well damn!
That wasn’t the point. The point was that the manuever Anakin was about to try was foolish against an opponent at a higher elevation whose reflexes are plenty fast enough to negate whatever advantage of speed you have as a magical space knight. Anakin felt that with the “greater” power of the Dark Side he could jump high and fast enough to negate the terrain advantage, but he was being a rash idiot.

Kenobi’s clear head, as it often does throughout the franchise, allows him to see exactly what the right path is, and he knows he’s gonna wreck Anakin’s whole shizz if he tries it.

Not because the high ground always wins, but because it gives him the very clear and significant advantage in that specific situation. He doesn’t say, “Give up, I have the high ground.” He says, “Don’t try it.” Referring you the maneuver.
