Whoa, continent sized? So I guess those mind flayers are sitting pretty if they rule a whole continent to themselves, even if they're cursed to live there.

It'd be awesome to have some of those ruins on the surface be inhabited. Maybe the inhabitants eking out a living came from a world that was technologically advanced (aka antimatter rifles) but when they got sucked into the Domains of Dread their civilization collapsed. Sprinkle in some defunct future tech to really enhance the alien feel of the domain.

This is neat, though don’t forget, Nightmare Logic. Actual distances might not really mean much in Ravenloft. The journey will be the journey, regardless of how you choose to make it.

True true. It could even be a case where you "think" to be somewhere and you just teleport to that spot (at least on the surface).

It certainly would be dreamlike. Upon resolving to go somewhere, you find yourself there, having arrived after making the trip. Though, I’m not sure that would be great for gameplay.

It would be if the inhabitants did things to them on the way, that they don't remember.....until later.....
