Ah that's actually good to know as I wasn't quite sure: I watched the clips before but didn't see her name.

In regards to the video/skin tone, was the changed made AFTER the Legend Lore clips or before? If it was before, than that just makes it all weirder.
It was changed before the art in the card went to print. But it’s not clear when the videos were made. Though I think the videos are much more recent, as in shortly after the leak, or just before, which would put them much later than the art being sent to print.

However the decision to go with the video in its format with the actor could have been made much earlier.

So? I dunno?

The first picture on her instagram is Ellywick. She looks like she's got a healthy tan in that image. A lot of her artistic pictures wash her out pretty hard, but the natural light of the shoot with the Lambert's House T-shirt gives you a good idea of what she looks like when she's not being touched up in one direction or another.

As to when the choice was made to make her a PoC? Might've been when they hired Erika. Though if someone can find a Casting Call for the role that'd give us a lot of insight.

Though it should be noted: Erika Fermina is a nerd in the community. And while she's a stylist and does some modeling she's probably best known for being in a couple of streamed D&D and Pathfinder games. So it may have been an internal decision to hire her without any sort of Casting Call because they knew and trusted her for the role.

Hard to say.

Reddit is better for everything then twitter, twitter is the bowels of the internet.
reddit is the source of some of the worst discussions I've ever witnessed. It's a dumpster fire that for some reason some people are really passionate about defending and acting like it's the top of the social media foodchain or something.

I'd rather go back to tumblr.

Wasn't the actress white/asian in the Legend Lore video clips where she pretty much was first introduced?
checks the clip Technically yes sooooooo.............I mean.........what I'm trying to say is...

My god... the actress isn't even a GNOME?!?

WotC is clearly trying to retcon Ellywick into being human! How DARE they indulge in such anti-gnome behavior?!?

The funniest thing here to me, is we are tier ranking social media.

Even the best of it, is a festering cesspool.

(For my money, Twitter is the worst, deleting mine was the best thing that happened in 2020.)

All of social media is as good or as bad as the ability of the user to curate their experience.

I despise Reddit because I have never found more than a couple subs that aren’t full of a-holes.

It’s easy to avoid them on Twitter. Curating is easy.

On Reddit, I just look at the couple of subreddits I find fun; DNDNext, D&D Memes, D&D Maps, and Fantasy Maps. All very friendly, and stay away from topics made to make people argue. Mostly just people sharing art.

I largely use Twitter for the same thing; just following artists and looking at lots of pretty pictures.

IE: social media is as ugly as you allow it to be.

You beat me to it. FB is of great value to me. Largely because I don't have any of my family as FB friends, and I only limit my exposure to topics that interest me and I make use of my blocked user list :)

So yeah, SM can be horrible, or actually useful, depending on how we as users want to utilize. But that takes willpower to not get sucked into an argument with a horrible person lol.
