It should be part of the listing period, it's not needed for the job, it should be there at all, the message to the none university educated is clear, we're not wanted.
I mean, maybe I'm too old, but post secondary education is pretty standard expectation for any job I've looked at, as far as the 'listed' requirements.

Unless I'm doing labour, which requires certification and other training.

Having a liberal arts degree is not a requirement. An applicant must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. The applicant will also need a minimum of six years of "significant" RPG design experience & credits which is going to exclude far more applicants than the liberal arts degree or equivalent experience requirement.

Wizards just hired someone to handle diversity, equity, and inclusion issues either earlier this year or last year. As part of most DEI initiatives, a company will make sure to post open positions in public forums to give all qualified individuals a chance to apply. i.e. It makes the process a bit more transparent.
I had a look at the full job requirements on the WOTC web page. They are all reasonable, and indeed "inclusive", if by that term one means anyone who has the skill set described has a shot at the job. The requirement "6+ years designing RPG products with significant credits on products from known publishers." will hugely limit the qualified applicants.

and it shouldn't be standard for job listing that can be done by those without that level of education.
This is a job posting for a highly skilled position that requires 6 years of credited industry experience on top of a 4 year college degree or equivalent experience. This isn't a posting for a temp in the office.

Or are you trying to say that a 4 year B.A. isn't indicative of valuable work skills...? If so, citation needed.

Other forms of unjustified discrimination are banned, so should this be. It's a form of shifting out the lower classes, and folks that aren't like them. Over representation of the university educated in MSM is already a huge problem, especially in journalism as is.
One can come from the "lower class" in the U.S. and have a 4 year degree, people do it all the time. It involves a bit of debt, but people do it because it adds value in things like...job skills.

Yes they do. People deserve to be paid according to the scarcity of their skills, rarity and production. They absolutely deserve to be poor if their life goals are designed around staying poor. Choices have consequences.

There are plenty of people who would love to be RPG designers as such the pay should be very low and I will bet they get tens of thousands of applications for this job. Heck I would love to do it, but I would rather keep my high salary as an aerospace engineer and let WOTC pay someone else to do it for $50k a year and I will play what they design, while having money left over for other things.
No one deserves to be poor. This is a reprehensible position that you’ve taken.

I am on your side in that I think the US Economy is too reliant on college degrees that put students in unforgivable debt...

...but I just don't think this is an example of that.

Can't fill it internally draws criticism from some groups. Too strong a tendency to fill internally draws criticisms from others.
Indeed. And anyone who has ever taken a business management course (incidentallly, that’s what my own degree is in), will tell you a big thing you realize in most companies is that hiring externally brings benefits. Most notably, an outside fresh view that isn’t subject to preconceived biased about how the company works. That’s how best practices get shared.
A good company will hire both internally and externally. Anyone who thinks an outside posting is a bad thing doesn’t understand business management.
