Normally this would bug me, but magic usually trumps logic. Like I said, as long as there is a duration and not a perm effect I can deal with these things.
If it were magical, yes. But the systems I'm talking about imply Sanity is just a part of the world and seeing a corpse will damage your sanity. Which has amazing implications for all coroners, doctors and just plain guys from Montana.

Oh, duh, yeah I'm with you then.

Ramsey is 3rd level with Skill Focus (Profession: Chef), max ranks and an Int of 13. If he takes 10, he automatically succeeds at challenging tasks; with a sous chef and a team of line cooks using aid another, he can automatically succeed at DC25 tasks.

Even Jacques Pepin is only 8th level.
Yeah, but (cinematic) Julia Child also had levels of Rogue as well.

Class level and stat maximums in 1e/2e, and 1e/2e level drains.
I like the concept of level drains, but it's always been a far-too clunky rule to have, since it needs so much calculation. I would change it so that it gives you a long-lasting or even permanent -d4 to your rolls (then a d6, then a d8, etc.). Or something like that. Level Up uses Strife.
