D&D General How has D&D changed over the decades?

One thing I haven't noticed anyone else say is that in older editions of D&D the sessions were a lot longer. It was also a lot easier to gather players. Newer editions for some inconceivable reason include careers, babies, and getting really tired at 10:00 pm.

Also in older editions I used to be able to eat as much pizza as I wanted without gaining weight.

Also I had more hair in older editions.

I do, however, now have a lawn to tell people to get off of.
 




It’s not incongruous. You’re assuming. You shouldn’t pick race. Roll it. Same with occupation/background. But sure, pick your class. If you want to play a weak fighter or a dumb wizard, go for it.
Nah man, random chance. Roll for race and class. You have an 18 int and rolled a cleric? You're a darn smart cleric? Rolled an illegal combo? Start over.

If you like. You're the one saying you don't want randomness and chance to come into a game that revolves around randomness and chance.
