Spelljammer D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

D&D Direct, WotC's new video-format announcement show launches today at 9am PDT (5pm BST). If you aren't able to watch it, I'll be updating this article live. Feel free to comment below! • MMO Neverwinter video. Dragonslayer begins June 2022. (I wonder if they'll need a dragonance for that?)
• New D&D actual play video, Legends of the Multiverse. Lots of 80s cartoon style soft rock music. Boo is in it.

Also I like the new idea with the Tile sets. If you combine those with the Pathfinder map sets and the 4E Map sets, you'll be hecka good for layouts for your 5E games.

Dragonlance "adventure book" is late 2022

Did they give a date for Stormwreck?

I may be mistaken but I believe the said something like October… 4th? Something like that. For Stormwreck I mean.

Spelljammer. Confirmed. I don't even know how to express my joy and excitement! Finally! And in a nice format!

Now we only need Planescape and/or a planar book, and 5e is complete.

But Dragonlance is a nice bonus, I will absolutely get that stuff too.

So their exciting new print format is to take one book, split it in three, and put it in a slip case?

I mean I definitely makes it easier to take the one book out to toss to your players for PC options without needing to worry about them peeking at monsters or the adventure.

You didn't quite answer my question, what exactly are you looking for, out of curiousity.

I want more DM-oriented material. Another Volo's or Mordenkainen's (Tome of Foes, not the reprint of old material that is Monsters of the Multiverse) would be cool. I don't want yet another Campaign level adventure, setting, or Anthology that only a fraction of it is useful or requires a tremendous amount of work by the DM to make functional.

Yup. Way to combine being environmentally unsound/unfriendly with making the product more expensive for zero consumer benefit. Bizarre.

Not "no benefit" - people have been complaining for a while about having the player options and the DM options in the same book.

"No benefit to me personally" because I'm not in that group - I'd rather have them all in one place - but I can see how it would benefit those folks.

Colour me interested in what’s been announced. Love the 2e-throwback white-cover-binder style of the re-imagined Monstrous Compendium! Spelljammer is a fun and varied campaign setting, excited to see it return to provide something different than the ‘traditional’ high fantasy worlds. Of course, we also get a nice ‘trad’ world in terms of Dragonlance. The handled campaign pack boxes could be portably useful for some. Potentially neat stuff that expands the breadth of the D&D experience(s), which is a win in my book.
