Sunday in our Pendragon game we blew a player's mind repeatedly, who had apparently never heard of Hadrian's Wall, and also didn't know that Germany as a country only dates back to around the 1870s.In researching a thing for a Call of Cthulhu thing, I found out that the Crown of Castile, a separate crown principality in the region of Spain, was still independent as late as 1715. I find it mind-blowing that Europe's "big kingdoms" hadn't settled yet by that point. It's not really relevant to anything, just a (to me) interesting factoid, so I figure it's good for this thread.
