D&D 5E What (if anything) do you find "wrong" with 5E?

How do you feel they're held back? What should they be? There are all sorts of things you could target, anything from the Kung Fu TV shows (70s or current) to The Last Airbender to ... well I'm probably not the one to ask.

Me? I'd like to see the rules for rests modified, swapping recovery between short an long rests doesn't really work very well. It looks like that could be an option in the anniversary edition, I just don't expect a full rewrite of any class.
Ha but we are currently checking this with my veterans. How to remove short rests mechanics. Simple, we multiplied ki, usage per day and spell points by three and spell slots by 2.5 starting at level 3. So far it works out. We based our assumptions on 2 short rests and the initial long rest. We are allowing 10 minutes bandage time where 1 HD can be spent (and thus a song of rest can be used or a prayer of healing and so on).

So far, no real problem have arisen and I strongly suspect that this is the way WotC will go.

Because no one forces you to use an ability or even write it on your sheet. This goes double for alt class features or feats.

Also, opponents of changes frequently don't even play the classes in question, and try and dictate other player's characters based on their taste. See those who shout down a warlord, mythic martial class, etc.

I think the same is probably true in reverse as well. Those advocating changes are doing so based on purely personal experience, typically lensed through memory and very little actual data. It’s all about the “gut”.

It’s why I try very hard to only reference the actual game and not my own personal preferences. Saying 5e is very caster heavy is an easily supportable point. It is. That’s a fact.

Saying monks suck and are unplayable is not easily supptable nor anything remotely approaching a fact.

I was outraged that the Playtest Ranger, despite being fairly popular (at least in my area) was never printed!
Seconded. Rolling initiative with advantage is a simple, beautiful rule that fits with the "rangers are always ready" trope and gives rangers something unique that other martial classes don't have. I was so disappointed that didn't make it into print.
