Dragonlance Dragonlance Creators Reveal Why There Are No Orcs On Krynn

Talking to the Dragonlance Nexus, Dragonlance creators Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman revealed why the world of Krynn features no orcs -- in short, because they didn't want to copy Tolkien, and orcs were very much a 'Middle Earth' thing.

Weis told Trampas Whiteman that "Orcs were also viewed as very Middle Earth. We wanted something different." Hickman added that it was draconians which made Krynn stand out. Read more at the link below!

It makes the world more generic was also given. Certainly for the one giving it this hurts it, which is why I said you simply did not accept it.

I do not except that 1 phb race would hurt it when the others are in... if there were not dwarf elf gnome and half elf I would take this more seriously

Didn't they try to address that in the 1980s with Crisis on Infinite Earths? Or is this a different "too much of what we've done conflicts and we need to try to set it straight"?

1985 Crisis on Infinte earths 'fixed' things but 1995 Zero Hour was an attempt to fix all the errors made by the Crisis... and one thing they did was merge all the hawkmen so every story was 'in canon' and that lead to hawkman and hawkwoman basicly not appearing for a few years, and other then power girl they MAY have gotten the worst of the retcons. Then came the Infinite Crisis fixes, and the Nu52 relaunch that was a start over... but not for green lantern or batman... and somehow that still cut heroes out because if this was year 5 superman how could there be a _____" then rebirth brought the old universe stuff back, but only sometimes... then this then that... now a big one is to merge ALL space time so ALL stories are canon (I think that was Death Metal).

Oh, boy, you have missed some stuff with DC Comics. Basically, every two or three years since Crisis (more or less), they've monkeyed around with continuity. There have been multiple times they've tried the "everything happened somewhere, and if it didn't, it still did, and people don't remember it unless they do." (My favorite version of this was Hypertime, in the early 2000s.)

The pre-Crisis multiverse was the fix for that. Crisis then just said 'none of that happened or matters' by smooshing all the Earths out of being....

... Except for the parts they liked, which got to survive.

Then they added and subtracted more by Crisising (or Zero Houring) every twenty minutes.

because the reason doesn't hold up at all. It doesn't show ANY harm to the setting but claims it would do harm.

Also, are you saying you would be ok if the only options were e.g. human, kender, and minotaur?
