Yeah, I'm really sorry to say that you're right. Unfortunately, this will be one of those things that long after it doesn't matter any more, it will get dragged out, dusted off and refought, over and over and over and over and over again.

Isn't it ever good enough to just take the win and move on?

Yeah, I mean once Wizard's gets it right, folks will take their victory lap and this one likely doesnt need to be another Pineapple edition war.

I was shocked to see it come up in that thread though, some of the threads run deep on the edition wars of the past and some just wont let it go.

I'd like to encapsulate the events of the past two weeks into a thinly veiled metaphor about pineapples, but this time I find I just can't do it. Idunno -- something about putting pineapples on pizza constituting implicit consent to a lifetime of indentured servitude without legal recourse. Or maybe just not combining them with black olives.

Pineapple on pizza is the bomb. Canned pineapple on pizza is a venal sin, but it's what most pizzerias use, and it's better than no pineapple! There are, as you mention, other toppings you should not combine with pineapple, and olives of any color certainly count.

In the end, pizza is just one kind of bread with stuff on it, and I'm more concerned with how the whole package works than with any particular line in the sand about what's allowed or not.

But that canned spaghetti + pineapple thing? shudder I mean, you already lose, utterly, with canned spaghetti. It's like you made a Charisma-5 character for Torg Eternity and rolled for Corruption with no Possibilities to spend on it.

I really, REALLY need to read all of those Torg Eternity books I've got. The Pan Pacifica (previously Nippon Tech) sourcebook and a bunch of other stuff should be arriving soon, I hope.

This is all pretty clearly stressful for you, based on your posting. I would suggest a sabbatical to a back-up hobby for a few weeks, when I think this will all be over, one way or another. The new World of Warcraft expansion is really good.
