[OOC] Baptism by Fire_FULL

@TaranTheWanderer I like the background and to give you some food for thought -

Fern looked like Delenir's son who was sent off at nine to train.
He could or could not have been fatherly towards the young bard. (all your call)
Please do whatever you wish just some things running through my head.

Mardoc was an Emerald Enclave representative in the court of Unther during Delenir's reign. Delenir probably appreciated Mardoc's keen observations on courtly intrigue (Insight +5) and frank, if ineloquent advice (7 charisma!). Mardoc was not popular among the courtly schemers, as he had the tendency to undiplomatically call out lies and half-truths. While it would be wrong to call Delenir and Mardoc "friends" (the difficult dwarf has few of them), they grew to respect on another.

However, Mardoc did not get on with the God-King Gilgeam, and the dwarf left the court of Unther and returned to his Druidic Circle when Delenir was deposed. Mardoc has publicly spoke out against any king who would ally themselves with Demons, as Gilgeam has done. He may have had few friends in Delenir's court, but he has even fewer friends there now.

No worries. My original idea was a dwarven or elf who was shapeshited by the spell plague and had no control over shifting until the Archmage taught him to control it.

@Neurotic if you are actually going Druid, I may go with a rogue unless you guys think 3 druids will be fun. Overlapping entangle with flaming sphere while the moon Druid tanks. :)

My idea for a rogue is an orphan that is an apprentice to the mage…but he’s absolutely terrible with magic and doesn’t know how to cast any spells
No worries, that was one of several ideas. I thought about playing a monk originally, but with one thief tool proficiency in the party already and my eberron monk, I looked at other options. I'll play celestial warlock librarian - I tried it in another game that died down after the first encounter.

Current party:

Neurotic - Assamir Warlock
Kobold Stew - Harengon Artificer
FitzTheRuke - Dwarf Druid
TaranTheWanderer - Human Bard

Looks like we got 4, but I hope someone else decides to join us and takes on another frontliner to help the G.O.A.T. lol

I have a busy work weekend ahead, but will still try checking in to check up on characters and help with background info.

Also I must note that I have only DM'ed 4 times filling in for my group here at home. Those were 2 little stand alone pamphlets for the Tomb of Annihilation League. So my DM knowledge is low, but not zero. I'm a big RP guy and this is why pbp was suggested to me.

I started playing RPGs in the Merchant Marines and that was RoleMaster, I started D&D during 4e and took a break until last summer when I found a group of players accidently while at a L.A.R.P.

Also I am based on the east coast USA (that time zone thing Neurotic mentioned)

I fixed that for you. I, honestly, was considering going full rogue because a no-magic apprentice is funnier than one who can cast. So, instead of an instrument, he carries around an old spell book. It doesn’t really function as a spellbook anymore because he’s written and doodled so much in the margins.

As I was writing the backstory, the connection to the son did occur to me so I’d be fine with it. I don’t think my character would understand that though.

how do you embed an image without having a huge attachment at the bottom of your post? Do you just link the image or do you upload it?
If it's not too big you can just cut-and-paste it. Otherwise, you use the Insert Image function at the top to put in a file (.jpgs are best, IME). The attachment pops up, I think, if you do too many edits to the post after adding the picture, for some reason. It can be erased, I think. I have done it.
