I imagine that, since my character's parents were killed by dragonborn of Tymanther (or at least in a war against dragonborn), my character might not immediately warm up to one.....

@Helmsman01 P.S, my character is done. You mentioned starting gold - do you mind if I buy a few things?
That's what I was thinking might be best to meet a dragonborn on the road between the borders of Unther and Tymanther give us some RP oppurtunities.

Wasn't starting gold per se more like equipment/spending funds for the undertaking. Make a list of what you wish at around 45/50gp on here and that may save us some time "shopping".

I actually wanted fancy clothes befitting the apprentice of an Archmage/former leader but I just noticed my diplomacy kit has some included. I think I’m good!

Still character checking...

Mardoc is good as D&D Beyond seems to check all the boxes.
Fern now here i am stuck a bit...
  • your proficient in 8 skills but I get 6 (3 class, 1 race, 2 background) I see you list feat after Perception, but I don't see the Feat listed anywhere to let me know what that was.
  • your also proficient in three musical instruments of your choice and although I know your character isn't a "playing Bard" but a poet these might just be three things you are naturally talented with over others. Maybe a skill inherited from your parents or one your grandmother played and you just "pick up" a few things.
  • which leads to no musical instrument under equipment, but I will allow that to be switched out for his "spellbook" only if you add a clause to Map of Capital(sketched into spellbook) so they aren't exclusively separate
  • and lastly is your character really only 10 years old????? Urchin isn't a background so much as a lifestyle LoL

Ok that's everything from the RG glad I haven't had to make any characters myself it looks a lot harder than I first thought.

8 skills:
(1-3)My 3 are arcana, history and persuasion
(4-5)My 2 urchin are stealth and slight of hand (also disguise kit and thieves tools)
(6) My 1 racial feat is deception
(7)I took Skill Expert which gives me expertise and 1 skill (I took perception and expertise in deceit) I forgot to post it in the 'abilities' section of my character sheet. To be fair, my character sheet isn't organized very well.

(8)I took Performance thinking that Bards got it automatically so I have to drop 1 skill. Would it be weird to have a bard that doesn't have performance? I guess if my art form is Poetry, the only 'tool' is Performance since there's no 'instrument' for that(other than the 'spellbook'.

3 musical instruments. I didn't list them because I don't really care to have any. I was reskinning 1 instrument slot as the Book of Poetry (the spellbook). I'm happy to get rid of one or two of those for performance instead. Or just use spell components. Maybe knowing one instrument would make sense but I don't see a young kid learning 3.

Is my character really 10 years old???
yes. Is that ok? I can make him older if it doesn't work for the story or if people are uncomfortable with having 'kids' do dangerous(adventurous) things. He was an urchin for two or three years of his life...that's a long time for a ten year old!!! I can make him 16 or something but it will change the way he gets played and he'll have lived on the streets a bit longer.

Map of Capital: this is equipment which comes with the Urchin Feature
