D&D Movie/TV D&D Movie Hit or Flop?

No. It was not his fault for saying this. It is one's own fault if one feels threatened in their probably toxic masculinity.

That term is very sexist. Its not that folks feel threatened, its that they feel disrepected. Emasculation is an act of making a man powerless and humiliation, stripping him of his dignity, there is no healthy empowering meaning to emasculation, to emasculate a man (CIS or Trans) is hurt that person to undermine their agency. Its not like they merely said he rejects traditional gender roles, he said emasculate a man, that's cruel thing to do. It means to attack his self respect, his self confedence, his dignity? How can you find the idea of not liking that to be toxic?

Rejecting emasculating someone isn't about wanting to enforce a particular kind of masculinity (masculinity and femininity are personal spiritual journeys, it's no one else's place to define what the is supposed to be or look like, becaused its completely unique to the individual person).

I personally don't see Edgin as emasculated, he's the boss and he has his skills and area of expertise and he's good at that, and others have theirs. Xenk certainly isn't emasculated based on reviews.

They were talking about the comedy value in undercutting their heroes. It's also a good dramatic tactic. Even John Wick suffers reversals.

Then just say that, no one would object to that. If it was a joke it didn't land well.

Honestly I've found doing damage control on this with folks who were upset exhausting, its giving me a head arce, so I've said my piece on it and I'd rather go back to focusing on what I think this movie will do.

Alot of folks are betting big on Mario going huge thos year, and I think that is very possible even if I don't get the appeal, but I think folks are underestimating this movie. Was Jumanji's premovie fandon anywhere as big as D&D's is today? And that not including all the folks who have seen it that love it and aren't D&D fans. I think this will be a sleeper hit.

8 review now, still 100% fresh

Metacritic has it at 80%

Indiewire gives it a 4.5/5

damn good scores and from what I've seen folks on twitter that have seen it loved it as well, including alot of folks who aren't D&D fans.
I was extremely suspicious of it given the previews, which suggested bad, but if those reviews keep up, it will do blowout numbers.

To be specific, if it stays at 80% on Metacritic, that would beat every single MCU movie in ratings except Black Panther. It might not do blockbuster Marvel numbers, but I would say $600-700 million or more isn't out of the realm of possibility now.

Good / bad reviews and number of viewers have only a weak correlation, so I would not read too much into it.

On their own I agree, but if none professional critic reviews agree, with an IP with name recognition as great as D&D, and good marketing it could make Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle money.

I mean look at Commander Legends: Battle For Baldur's Gate, got constantly dumped on in a host of ways and still made $100,000,000+, and as product its really of no use to none MtG players and collectors.

The market is there if the movie is good enough.

One thing I've noticed in reviews is some taking shots at the MCU when comparing this movie's visuals to Marvels. One person said this movie looks better then every marvel movie for the last 5 years.
