This is a good sign, IMO:
It can't help but feel like a specific take torn straight from someone's table — even if the movie doesn't feel like your Dungeons & Dragons, it feels vividly like someone's Dungeons & Dragons.
That said, Slash Film isn't exactly the world's most impressive movie review site. Hoping for the best from reviewers who are typically aligned with my tastes.

Someone (who has the patience to collect them) should start a thread for the aggregation and discussion of the reviews. Right now, though, pretty much all I've seen have been pretty positive, with the only real complaint is that it slows a bit in the second act (which is hardly an uncommon issue for any film). Apparently, Pine and Rodriguez make a good screen pairing according to pretty much all of the reviews.
