We don't talk about Pun-Pun
Of course, one also has to note that Barbarians tend to take a lot more hits (thanks to Reckless Attack) than other characters, and again, Rage is not a resource one can use all the time. Further, you can fall out of rage in certain battles, and enemies have no particular reason to attack you with the base Barbarian class so I find "tanking" arguments to be somewhat dubious. If someone else has more of an impact on the battle than the Barbarian, that resistance might not mean much.If that's your take on rage I don't think you are playing barbarians enough. Resistance makes barbarians a tanking god, I have routinely seen barbarian players throw themselves into the pits of hell and survive things they had no business surviving. I am continuously surprised at how bad the barb might look on paper, but in play are one of the best classes, I have never had a player play one and been disappointed.
The trick with the barb is that rage doesn't really improve their offense like it did back in the day, that is what reckless attack is for. Advantage on any attack you wants means you crit often, and hit even more so.
