"Look I just want to hate Wizards of the Coast, okay? Let's not get all bogged down in the "why" or the "reasons" or any of that "justification" nonsense--just let me hate on things you like in peace. Why is that so hard for you?"
"Can't we go back to that time in January when life was simpler and all of us hated Wizards of the Coast with a burning passion? Weren't we all happier back then?"

Yeah, quoting someone then immediately blocking them isn’t the power move you seem to think it is.

Tangentially related, two other thoughts regarding ignore-

1. There was a commenter who joined recently (as in a few months ago) that came in so hot that I assumed it was a sockpuppet from a banned account and just reported them and blocked them. Anyway, apparently the commenter is still around (as they are not crossed out on my ignore list) and I can tell they are participating in threads when I see other people just getting angrier and angrier. Kind of a fun use of negative space!

2. More closely related to what you wrote (and what @Ryujin said), I've seen an interesting phenomenon. Sometimes, when things are getting heated, I will ignore someone for a brief timeout- after all, sometimes it is them, sometimes it is me, and sometimes it is just the situation (and as we all know from Jersey Shore, the Situation can suck). Other than a select group of people that I have on perma-ignore, I regularly review and release people on my ignore list because life is too short. But ... a few people think that the power move is to block a person because they have blocked you. Trouble with that is that if I can't see you, I can't decide if you're worth unblocking. Or, I guess, that answers the question!

I feel like there should be a named fake, bogus Internet forum fallacy to call out when people use fake bogus internet forum fallacies that are neither recognized logical nor formal fallacies.

Parmandur's Precept: Putting a fancy name in front of the word "fallacy" doesn't magically transmogrify a stupid internet saying into an actual logical fallacy.
