It is a little humorous how KP was trying to position TotV as the more conservative and "compatible" to 5E iteration, but D&D'24 may juat bw.more conservative in the end.
I suspect they will both be about the same as how far a departure from 5E they are but in different directions which is why I passed on ToV. Using some original 5E material with ToV and the updated 5E seems like it would be too much a headache.

The big aspect was as Treantmonk broke down what is left to playtest and how much time actually remains.....it makes sense. Realistically the next playtests are going to have to be PACKED to cover all that content.... and so either they go more conversative with which they know works, or they abandon the playtests to go more experimental, which is a roll of the dice. Seems they chose the tried and true.

The biggest ? to me is the monster manual. Again based on limited playtest time, it seems likely they will focus on tweaking and adjusting monster stats rather than bringing out major changes in mechanics.

that is the least question to me, think MotM instead of Volo’s. Same changes for the MM.

I am more curious why there is a playtest for it at all, they must be proposing something more than that, but I would not expect mayor changes either way. Might be more about encounter building or adventuring day than monster changes
