There are only three people with my name in the US. One is a local politician in another state (whom I rank higher than on Google, ha ha!) and one is a Florida Man. The Florida Man has gotten in low level trouble with the law over the years, because of course, which I know because he cannot remember his Gmail address and over the years, keeps writing mine down instead.

So I've gotten his court summons, his emails asking why he didn't show up for court-ordered trash pick up detail or his regular job (catering) and bills for overdue community college fees. I've written back numerous times to these people, telling them to call him by phone, but he continues to make the same mistake.

Not a bank robber, like @Mad_Jack's alleged evil twin (very convenient that it's the other guy robbing banks), and he lives on the opposite side of the country, thankfully, so it's mostly just amusing.

After hearing some of these name stories, I'm super glad that I'm the only one with my name in the U.S. There are only two others with my name who live in other countries that I found on Facebook, so it seems that my name is pretty rare.

Yeah, most of the others have spaces between their first and last names.

Its more a case that there was a period when some technologies were, shall we say, moving along a-pace, and have now become obsolete so keeping them for people to see who never have is a virtue.

I don't get that one.

I believe Mr. Dustyboots was implying that "Maxperson" is your given or legal name, which would explain why you don't share it with anyone, people with similar names presumably preferring the "Max Person" variation or some such.

Presumably he, in fact, believes "Maxperson" to merely be an internet nom de guerre (a fact which your confusion would seem to verify).
