D&D General JMISBEST's questions. Most of them about campaign ideas that either he or A GM he knows has and wants to know what people think

I've realized that I forgot to mention that in my opinion the reason that people that wrote it didn't specify whether the Fighter had to of noble birth or whether he or she could be someone of common birth that earned A Noble Title is because they wanted to leave the choice up to The GM's but I wanted to know what other people thought about it
yes, and my opinion is that it doesn't matter which of the two methods you came about having nobility, i think if there's any intended reason for them not specifically declaring one method of having nobility over the other it's to avoid 'you have a seat on the council of masters, but you are not granted the rank of master' situations where you're nobility but you don't have 'nobility through the right way' so that your title of nobility is actually pretty meaningless.

I had A Dnd Dream last night and I have a question about it

The Campaign was basically A Dnd Version of The war between England and Spain during The 17th Century and The Pcs were the Captain and 4 most Senior Officers on A English Privateer Ship

On The 25/7/1,648 they captured 1 of the richest prizes A English Ship had ever caught, so they set sail for A English Port and reached 1 of The 11/8/1,648

The thing is that the war ended on The 5/8/1.648, which means that attacks on Spanish Ships would count as piracy and The Pcs were worried that they'd be hung for piracy

So what I want to know is is the fact that even though The Pcs captured The Spanish Ship 10 days before the war ended is the fact that they didn't get it to A English Port, where they could claim the prize, until 6 days after the war ended enough to get them hung for piracy
I am more familiar with the laws in the 1800s, and that is mostly based on the (excellent and well research) Patrick O'Brian book series (the Aubrey-Maturin one that starts with Master Commander).

So based on that knowledge, absolutely not. Unless there is some kind of instant communication everyone has access to, this would not be considered a crime, especially since the capture happened before the war ended. What is more likely is the English crown seizing the treasure and deciding to keep a huge portion of it on some flimsy excuse.

So what do you think?, can your Fighter only earn the right to found a domain if he or she is of noble birth or can he or she be someone that despite being born a commoner somehow earned himself or herself A Noble title.
What I was trying to say is it probably meant to copy the concept from AD&D (1e). In which case, noble birth isn’t part of the equation, and it’s not a right but a possibility. As in a 9th level Fighter has enough importance and renown, they’re capable of starting a fortification and drawing followers and people who want to live in their domain. Whether they get legal permission from some overlord to do so, or carve it out from the wilderness as pioneers (the default assumption as I recall), or seize it as warlords is best left to the specific campaign.

The level title for 9th level Fighter is Fighter Lord, but that doesn’t mean they necessarily bowed to an overlord,

I know that Fighters can't create Domains before 9th level but theirs nothing saying that A Pc, who doesn't have to be A Fighter, can't earn A Domain before 9th level, I mean I know and have known GM's that have made adventures designed for characters of 5th level and 2 for 4th level Characters that each have between A 10% chance and A 15% chance of the Pcs getting a extra reward that consists of 1 of them getting A Domain

For sure. You can definitely do that. It’s D&D, so as DM, do whatever makes sense in the campaign.

I have had my players become lord of a frontier domain, knights (3 times, 2 different kinds of knight), sheriff, and build a monastery. It happened because it made sense in the campaign, not because of their levels or an obscure rule in a 2e splatbook.

If you’re not DMing, I hope you give it a try. Your questions are fun.

Can I ask Adventurer Conqueror King questions here?, the reason I'm asking is that theirs enough similarities between Dnd and Adventurer Conqueror King that it is possible

Don't think anyone will get to upset. Not that many people are that familiar with it though. Odds of getting an answer aren't great.

I own it but haven't played it for years. Ask away but IDK might be a common answer.

I mainly want to ask if anyone knows of A Group that's doing A Adventurer, Conqueror King Campaign that's got characters that are near King Tier that would welcome A Player with A King Tier Character

The characters a few years old and the campaign ended before it had even started after a argument caused the group to break up

The GM did bend the rules A Bit, for example letting me roll twice for Favours or Duties from my liege, the 1st was A 12 and netted me A 4th Vassal Domain, and the 2nd was A 9, and he let me get 1 Gold Coin worth of Gifts per family in my lands, including my Vassals

He also let me do 8 events that he generated on The Tables from The Capital of The Borderlands, which netted me a lot of stuff

Then a year or so later I did find A GM that would have me but we fell our in the 1st session, which didn't even reach the 1st adventure. Please help

Ah that's a lot harder.
