Technically, Orris was asking The Voice of Reason if he lived in the mansion(because that is who Orris wants to ‘hire’) but it makes sense if the crazy guy piped in and cut them off.Okay, wrote what I think is reasonable for the voice of reason given the perception checks.
3 choices in the IC text:
1- follow jach
2- stay and try to restore order with voice of reason
3- pay the crazy guy to take you to the portal
a couple more that the party could make:
4- ignore all three choices and continue exploring to find their way
5- fight/ threaten / beat information out of the voice of reason or crazy guy
Whoops, my mistake, I had thought that Oris was talking to the other guy. Either way, I still think it works.Technically, Orris was asking The Voice of Reason if he lived in the mansion(because that is who Orris wants to ‘hire’) but it makes sense if the crazy guy piped in and cut them off.
I’m not too interested in helping the town unless it nets us some advantage from someone with influence. The blue robed guy seems like a powerful ally(long term) but the cost of being an ally may be too steep and I don’t think Orris is willing to go to business with him. Going to see Plague-Mort might be useful, both short term and long term. They might ask us to help the as a price to use the portal.
@Nordom Is there a risk the portal may lead to somewhere other than Sigil?
@Nordom are you using our skills as guide to how well our actions are succeeding? Is there a way to convince the Hound to do it for free(or for cheaper) - without charming him?
I’m going to post tonight and try to persuade him to do it for free. If you want to aid me, that’ll give us advantage. I think our bonuses are the same so it doesn’t matter who rollsI think it's worth planning out how our characters will react to this since it could go wildly different ways.
My character's not going to pay if he doesn't have to and isn't interested in risking his safety by staying to restore order, so he's most likely going to either follow Jach or try to persuade or threaten the crazy guy into showing our characters the way out for free.
What do the rest of you think?
I've got +7 for Persuasion, so I think it would make more sense for your character to aid mine unless you have a higher bonus.I’m going to post tonight and try to persuade him to do it for free.
