Late October to November, with the last PHB packet in Januarary.

At some point they will have to do a Packet for all the spells and feats they want to add to the game. My guess is 8 Packet will have the updated versions of the playtest 6 classes and any Divine Magic spells they want to add, plus Bard spells they want to add. Pack 9 will have the updated packet 7 classes and the Arcane Spells. Or maybe Packet 9 will be all the none class stuff they want to add like more named spells. Or maybe Packet 9 will have everything.

yeah,
but all feats should have been in all playtests, it is only few pages for very important part of the game.

I believe that both got trashed in packet 6 survey.
I frickin' hope so, they were both terrible. I mean the Monk was an improvement but still conceptually awful and arguably even more "problematic" with "Discipline" than Ki.

Knowing Crawford though there's no way that dude, who hates unarmed attacks like he hates hell and all Capulets, will let Monks be anything but second-rate and conceptually narrow.

I dont thing that unarmed damage should go above 1d4.

But monk could play with more attacks instead of more damage.

I.E:
During Attack action, make two unarmed strikes instead of 1 weapon attack
11th level, make 3 unarmed attacks instead of 1 weapon attack
17th level, make 4 unarmed attacks instead of 1 weapon attack

5th level extra attack as normal.

This would free up Bonus action of monk for some other usage.

That's an irrational viewpoint that make no sense in a D&D context where we're doing HP damage, though, so we can easily dismiss that view.
that is damage of a dagger.

Ask any martial artist is he willing to fight someone with a big knife if he really does not need to?

d4 is generous, lots of attacks also feed the "monk fantasy" of lots of lightning fast strikes.
small damage-lots of attacks. balanced.

It takes a moment to notice the intersections across two properties and an ability but ith the current nick and either version of the martial arts ba attack a monk can be pretty brutal with a dagger light hammer or sickle too.

edit:da math goes here!
  • Monk 1-4 2d6+strength or dex mod bonus action 1d6+strength or dex mod
  • Monk 5-10 2d8+strength or dex mod bonus action 1d8+strength or dex mod
  • Monk11-16 2d10+strength or dex mod bonus action 1d10+strength or dex mod
  • Monk17-20 2d12+strength or dex mod bonus action 1d12+strength or dex mod
:)

I just wanted the UA updated-updated Monk at this rate to see if it is even worth it to slot it in as the replacement for the current Monks.

I'm already swapping in the ToV Ranger as the replacement for the default 5E Ranger.
