D&D 5E Planescape shows up in the wild. Tease from Chris Perkins.

Why even come to a thread about a new release then? You don't like the art, you're sure the quality will be horrible... well then why are you even involved in a conversation around it, it seems your mind is made up.

Thank you! I am baffled by this phenomenon. There are specific RPGs I don’t like, but I simply don’t find it a good use of my time to go “participate” in those forums and yuck on those people’s yums. Critique is one thing, constant bashing is… baffling.

If they cover the planes? The Gate Towns? I mean if they dont cover alignment in those aspects I'll be pretty annoyed.
The Gate Towns have been specifically mentioned as being covered, although whether that will be just a chart or if we'll get some or all with more detail hasn't been revealed. Less than half the Gate Towns got in-depth coverage during the entire 2e run, if I remember right.

Probably some sort of gazateer write-up, even if not super detailed. Similar to how Cities on the Sword Coast got write-ups in SCAG.

They reversed that quickly, like within a product or two. Alignment has been de-emphasized, but not dropped totally these days. I guess we'll see how this all pertains to this set here soon!

Yep, and unless its just a representation of the internal D&D faction wars, we can assume it was added back in part (since mechanically they have gutted it) because it actually IS popular with a lot of people, and they made their voices heard.

I cannot imagine they realized it was about alignment. I think the actual only way to communicate that thing to them is by saying so on surveys.

I think there was a few around that time period. I know I spammed it on the next few surveys. I was able to save Alignment, but ASI...you are still missed.

224 2E era pages. The new set is 288 5E pages. Importantly, their "gazetteers" are both 96 pages, but word count for the 2E era pages is definitely higher. Even so, I was under the impression that Planescape was 64 page books, so there is more room in there than I thought, and therefore it might not be as shallow as I assumed.

ETA: I was completely wrong about word count per page. Completely. Huh.
I'm fairly sure you were slightly off on the page count also. According to the 5E book's Amazon page, it's two 96-page books and one 64-page book. So 256 pages altogether.
