The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

I know you're being metaphorical, and I know that when people talk about pineapple in this thread they aren't actually talking about pineapple...but it's only a matter of time until someone chimes in about it and I wanted you to be prepared:
In at least one contest, pineapple is the most popular pizza topping in California, Florida, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nebraska, New Jersey, Oregon, Utah, and Virginia. It's also the second-most popular topping in America, overall.

It's also apparently the #1 topping in Australia, but I couldn't get the image to link.

I got this image from a Reddit thread, and the comments are hilarious. Everyone is all "I call bulls--t, there's no possible way that my favorite isn't everybody's favorite!" and lots of "I demand to see the data!" and "Google searches aren't the same thing as pizza orders!" and so on. Basically the same things people yell about with respect to D&D.

Turns out, that "pizza as D&D" metaphor was closer than I knew.

I know that personal experience isn't proof, but I can attest: when I worked in a pizzeria, pineapple was very popular. Not as popular as pepperoni or extra cheese, but it was definitely in the top three. If someone ordered a one-topping pizza, it was almost always pepperoni...but if they ordered a two-topping pizza, it was almost always pineapple and bacon. I don't know how useful that info is, but there it is.

I reject this reality, and substitute my own. ;)

It's the internet. Have you ever read the comments to recipes?

"I don't have an actual oven; how do I make this home-made from-scratch pizza using a very hot light bulb?"

"Is there any way to make this banana bread by subbing out the eggs and banana with garlic powder and kombucha?"

"Due to dietary restrictions, I am only able to consume straight gin. I made the necessary changes to this French Toast recipe, and it turned out great! Unfortunately, due to amount of gin I drank, I can't remember what I substituted."

"What's the best way to make a sugar-free version of these Pixie Stix?"
This guy got ya covered.

Counterpoint- any appeal to Florida Man is doomed to fail. LOGICAL FALLACY!
