It's over a 40 Km trip to work, one way, so that's not an option. We had a guy who would ride his bicycle 25 Km to work, every day. He ended up with a pacemaker and is now retired. Exercise will kill ya.
I’m definitely stealing this from a comedian I can’t think of, but you never find a dead body sitting on the couch watching TV. It’s always the jogger that finds the body.

True story.

I once took a taxi between the two Shanghai airports. The driver was so strung out so badly that he was constantly twitching and then drifting between lanes.

At over 150 kph.

I’ve never been that terrified in my life.
After the earth quakes in SanFran the highway system was such a mess. They put a stop sign at the end of the on ramp to the interstate just before the Bay Bridge.

There I was in rush hour traffic, at a stop sign, in a struggling rental, trying to figure out how I was going to merge into bumper to bumper traffic moving at 60+ mph, from a dead stop.

I had a friend who was riding on the cypress structure, and got off and went and bought some cigarettes in west oakland. While smoking the earthquake happened, and he watched it fall down. The only time I know smoking saved someone's life.

Yea man. I’m so very glad I wasn’t there for the actual quake.

I got laid off shortly after the baby was born. Almost immediately afterward, I was hired by a different department at the same company, at the same site, for more money, for a job that is 95% work-from-home. My commute is 7.5 miles each way. I have never previously, in my life, have had less than an hour commute one-way. It really came at the best possible time for me to help with the baby!
