GoT (the TV show) is just awful, except by the first season. From the second onwards, it deviated too much from the books for me to really connect.

Star Wars would be better if Lucas never added the family stuff in Empire. The Skywalker Saga element brings nothing good to the series.

Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith have one of the best portrayals of rising fascism ever in sf cinema. How this happened, I do not know.

Stuart Gordon and Brian Yuzma did not make good movies, and their lingering influence in Cthulhu Mythos-related filmmaking is almost entirely bad. (Though launching Jeffrey Combs’ career is an unalloyed good.)

The pressure sf:f/h fans often out on others to watch or read something that is triggering for them because others like it is a real drag sometimes, and contributes to the pressurees giving up on fandom. This is true despite all the modern talk of awareness about such things.

It would really be nice to see more RPGs in epub. (Fred Hicks of Evil Hat has brought the receipts to convince me that the audience for it is simply too small to be feasible except in rare circumstances. I am therefore sure that this is not popular. It’s sure make my life better, though.)

And now let me roll up my sleeves and get to work here…

Too much nostalgia for products of gaming’s early years is at heart a Faustian yearning to be freed from the burden of knowledge, to be morally innocent and not required to recognize evil or expect to do anything about it. (Ok, this is hyperbole and then some, but this kind of threads needs more sticks stirring things.)

There is no better tomorrow when all you think about is yesterday.
