Blue Orange
Gone to Texas
I'm only mentioning this because it's an example of the reverse that actually supports your thesis. (ie if A>B, -A and -B helps suggest at least a correlation may exist.)Yeah, I have had my eyes opened to a lot of things that slipped by me in the past by broadening my circle of acquaintances and friends. It's been a growth experience, to put it mildly.
You know, I wonder if part of the reason I'm relatively conservative is that I never actually managed to do this. I'm not good at making friends in general, and my circle's only declined as the years went on. Ironically they largely moved to my left.
I've come to the conclusion it doesn't really matter; I'm not particularly important, whatever side I take, I'm not charismatic enough to convince anyone or rich enough to fund them, the millennials and zoomers are taking over, and in 40 years there'll be nothing left of me but a few thousand blog posts and whatever's left over after long-term care in the Vanguard account that winds up filling a hole in the Treasury.
Might even be a nice estate sale for collectors of old nerdage like the one they talked about here a few weeks ago.
