Digging in your heels when you're wrong, because you're trying to "save face" doesn't make you look smart. It just raises questions about how credible everything else you say is.

Confession time: If you don't have an custom avatar, so it is just the first letter of your handle in a colored circle, chances are I will conflate you with other posters who have the same first letter in their handle. For example, it took me forever to realize that Reynard and Retreater are not the same person. Heck, sometimes the avatars could be different and it still doesn't matter like I always have to remind myself who is Clever Nickname and who is Charlaquin, and so forth.

Sorry, it is like the internet forum equivalent of face blindness.

I had one occassion where I got two posters confused, and messaged one as I was confused around the relation between two posts, not realising they were two different posters.
