Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Yeah, I think people forgot that the point of that thread was to not make a negative comment at all, and replace it in the "i didn't comment" thread with a different fun comment to defuse one's own irritation. It wasn't really supposed to be a place to just mutter something under your breath, pineapple or no.

I'm not sure that is clear in the former thread: "My negativity can stay here in this thread, and it can hold your negativity too if you want. We can let people have their fun while misery is safely in this thread." (Although, in any case, it does still sound like the thread was clearly applicable for serving as a dumping ground for rants about ketchup on hotdogs and bards).

The issue though is most of us had no idea that was going on. Pineapple pizza on its own, leads to pretty high spirited discussion. So i think most of us were just weighing in with sincere or hyperbolic views on that topic, slipping in another topic means there is a whole conversation peopel aren't aware of and is going to lead to confusion because posters who just think they are saying they hate pinnapple or like it, might be perceived to hold opinions on other issues they don't hold (and at this point I still am unclear on what Pineapple Pizza was code for)
One of the things we were supposed to avoid doing on that thread was to have drawn out serious conversations (either criticizing other threads, or letting something serious pop-up there). So a tangent that got "serious" about pineapple was absolutely perfect!!

The problem isn't that the pineapple is on the pizza. The problem is that the pineapple is warm.

Pineapple on shish kabobs is great. Or does that count as hot and not warm?

But, human beings can take anything, even the silliest of things, too seriously. Proof: the afterlife. Having an argument about suppositions about what "happens" to us when we're dead is the silliest thing in human society, since there's absolutely no tangible, verifiable proof that anything happens at all (EDIT: beyond decomposition, I meant), yet people have died about this topic. En masse. And I have been reliably informed that's happened more than once! So, there is absolutely no topic you can guarantee that humans won't take too seriously. Yu-Gi-Oh. The Rangers. Pong. You name it, somebody will come on and tell you how seriously they take it.

I don't think ketchup is an appropriate condiment for bards.

It is appropriate in Chicago.

After all, the only good use for a Chicago-style deep dish pizza casserole is to use it as a swimming pool to drown bards.

And as we have previously established, Chicago doesn't put ketchup on their hot dogs because they use all the ketchup as the sauce for their "pizza."

I've heard the concept of the 'Shadow Realm' from Yu-Gi-Oh was an invention of 4Kids Entertainment in the localization of the source material. They were concerned that American Kids(Or perhaps their parents) would be turned off by seeing characters die as a consequence to losing a card game, so instead of killing someone, they would be banished to the Shadow Realm..

And that's wild. Banishing someone to a Hell analogue being somehow better than just killing them is bananas to me. That's something I don't think people think about seriously enough..
